My daughter would have been in third grade this year at Port Allegany Elementary School. I pulled her out and chose to homeschool because I am APPAULED at how LITTLE my child has learned there. She has always gotten good grades and the teachers have all said nice things. So I was shocked at how behind she actually is. She can BARELY read and it takes forever to get through a word. Making this change really opened my eyes to how below basic this school really is. If you care about your child's academic progress, do not send them here.

"there are plenty of church events. the summer town yard sale is pretty great. but it is a small and mostly quiet town"

"Easily walkable neighborhood with most necessities available in town. The commute for other shopping can be frustrating. Friendly community with true small town feel makes up for it. Would love to see another sprucing up of the town, it’s overdue."
