About this House
Great view, great neighborhood, great home.
Kitchen and both bathrooms have been remodeled. Upstairs is done in tile to match the kitchen, downstairs has a Jacuzzi tub and is done in marble. It’s very tastefully done, stylish and relaxing, the pics don’t do it justice.
The upstairs addition was created by an excellent designer, it’s beautiful. It has over $20,000 worth of custom cabinetry, and vaulted ceilings that were insulated completely, R32+ at the peak! Workstations on both sides, pantry and two closets, storage, storage, storage. The garage was extended 6 feet at that time, room for parking and working. It was also fully insulated and sheet rock finished.
Has a recently finished mud room/rear entrance that has a brand new professional series fridge and freezer combo. Haven’t taken all the protective plastic off the stainless steel fronts yet. We recently installed a solar/battery system that is auto switchover backup for them. It also runs the kitchen lights in a power outage.
The original front living room has been converted to a dining room, and the original dining area is now a breakfast nook with built in seating. Plenty of space for family gatherings and parties.
Most of the house is laminate flooring, doesn’t trap the dust and allergens like carpet does, which is why we put it in. Tile in the upstairs bathroom and mud room, marble floor in downstairs bathroom.
Downstairs is where we have lived for many years. I work strange hours and need to be able to sleep during the day at times. The basement is quieter, cooler, and easier to keep dark. We also replaced all the windows in the main house with high end, guaranteed for life, cool and quiet windows. They are awesome!
The laundry room was made smaller to create a large walk in closet. It has built in shelves and drawers on each side. The downstairs living room has one wall, where a fireplace was intended, converted to a TV station with storage, storage, storage. You really have to see the detail work to appreciate the design.
The other downstairs bedroom is currently my office, filled with computer stuff, but it too has custom shelving for extra storage. Beginning to sense the theme here?
In the back is a garage converted to a shop, which is currently used as an art studio. About 400 sq feet including a storage area. Full power and wired network to the house. It has a water line run to it for a swamp cooler, but hasn’t been used in years.
There is also a small playhouse with a loft. Our kids loved to do sleep outs in it. Now used mostly for storage. There’s that word again.
For even more storage there is a shed on the South side of the house, looks attached but it’s not. Big enough for multiple snowmobiles, motorcycles or 4 wheelers. Has a large side door with inside lock for the toys to go in and out. The shed is also fully insulated and has power on a plug in connection.
Speaking of insulation, the main house attic insulation was upgraded last summer and the roof replaced. Most of the lights in the house have been converted to LED. The furnace was replaced a few years ago with a high efficiency one, the central air added at that time. The A/C unit is actually much bigger than the house needs, but I got a killer deal on it and it doesn’t have to run as hard as a smaller one would.
Both yards are works in progress, the front yard is being converted to low water use. The grass replaced with turf and some of the broadcast watering replaced with direct drip. We used to have to run the front sprinklers for 20+ minutes every other night to keep that grass healthy. It’s down to 5 now.
