The first year was great, we were looking forward to a future with North Columbia Elementary School. The second year we noticed a big shift in the staff and administration. FUNDING was the new topic of high importance, not the quality of teaching and family engagement. We could not go to a single family chorus performance or event that didn't come with a print off detailing monetary contributions and how much money and how much was still required for the school. Nothing says we love your kids like asking for money constantly right!?! If you are big into GREED and not quality and care of students this is the school for you.

Clas of 2025 Grad here, they shouted at the special needs kids, they don't do anything about bullying the special needs or LGBTQ kids, some teachers and staff are intentionally supressive, they obviously dont know how certain disabilities work, for instance i have adhd they told me just to focus, horrible accommodation, overall i had a horrible time.

This school is terrible in terms of education. I find that my child, hates being there, because the teachers do not care to teach, and certainly don’t care to check in with grades. I understand that it is a child’s job to be responsible, but how are they meant to be responsible, when the adults there are not caring about teaching? The utter ignorance of racism, etc. in this school is abhorrent. My son, had been called slurs, and nothing was done about it. He went to the counselor, reported it, and even when they told him it was ‘handled’ the ignorant child was back at it again. Do better Harlem.
