Description

19 Clarkson Avenue is a two family 3-story limestone in Lefferts Gardens, only blocks from Prospect Park, the green heart of Brooklyn. The elegant large 3000SF , two family townhouse with original facade and bay windows is an incredible three story home configured as an owners' duplex over an income producing rental. This home is everything you've ever wanted, it's filled with light, has wide plank oak flooring throughout and 11' high ceilings that provide it a feel of luxury, style and comfort.

The spacious 3 BR, 2.5 BA owner's duplex incorporates an open floor plan on the parlor level for dining, living and hosting. The expansive kitchen is truly the heart of the home, with a wonderful island and room for cooking, working, and eating. The kitchen overlooks the spacious private backyard. The outdoor space is a quiet sanctuary from the city's hustle and bustle. The stainless steel appliances meet the home chef's every need, with a 5-burner commercial grade range, high end refrigerator, and dishwasher. The parlor level has a functional half bath and a built-in shelving system under the designer stairs.

On the second floor, the layout is extremely spacious, unique and magnificent. The master suite offers a luxurious retreat that overlooks the garden through full glass doors which lead to a private terrace with wooden decking. The ensuite master bath blends chic and functional with stylish tiles, an oversized double sink and vanity, and a large shower with a rain-head. The 2 additional bedrooms have wonderful irregular layouts due to the beauty of the building's exterior shape and bay windows. Each room is unique and flooded with light. The second large bathroom features a luxurious bathtub.

The additional unit on the ground floor has a separate street entrance and boasts a 2BR, 1BA that has been renovated with an eye toward producing income. The floors are slick concrete and the unit offers room for play depending on the owner's future wishes.

This townhouse showcases energy efficient LED lighting throughout, while central heating/air, washer/dryer hookups, for both units, make this home functional. The location could not be more ideal: you are in beautiful Leffert Gardens less than 2 blocks from the park's entrance at LeFrac Center and the Prospect Park lake, home to ice-skating in the winter and skating, boat rental and biking in the summer. You'll also be minutes to everything, including new cafes and shopping. In addition, transportation is located just a few blocks away and the B,Q & 2,5 express trains make for an easy commute into Manhattan.

"It is a Decent commute, everything is within 15 minutes to 1 hour. There is a bus on most routes and a way to get to a subway station to be able to get to your destination. When it comes to transportation this borough has the most transportation by far. "

"Proximity to all means of transportation bus trains and taxi service, Prospect park facility availability is better hop skip and a jump , traffic is a bit crowded at times everybody busy to go in the same direction nowhere . Proximity to the local hospital kings County about a five minute walk up all three minute drive depending on traffic although also Barclay center is about 10 minutes by bus"
  • Trulia User
"nothing much, we come together and have fun and everyone is security conscious, and we look out for our neighbors at all time "
  • Lareeree
"I’ve lived in this neighborhood directly facing Prospect Park for 12 years. The neighborhood has wonderful attributes with access to the park, Botanical Garden, Zoo, library and museum being very high on the list. Many aspects of the neighborhood have deteriorated as well. The entrance to the park area has crime, homelessness, littering and over crowding in the warmer months. We are leaving this neighborhood after suffering many of these issues. Mainly our dog has become very anxious because of all-night sound and fireworks throughout the summer nights. If you have no dog and no young babies it is worth checking out."
  • Patrick O.
"Difficult to say I don't own a dog, but the proximity to Prospect Park I assume would be a plus for 🐕 owners."
  • Juanluisarias
"I think that this is a good place and friendly , nice , safe to go to the park and good for the kids growing up and the is so kind and good"

  • Cat V.
"Easy peasy! We have the 2/5 train two blocks one way and the Q train is two blocks in the other way. You cannot beat it for the price and safety. "
  • Shantel F.
"I've lived here for 3 years and the area has really grown on me every thing is so close by and convenient. stores, place's to eat, and transportation. "
  • Michael B.
"We have a great block association and gardening committee. There is great pride for the block and how we act as neighbors"
  • Vaughn M.

"I've lived in this area for more then 45 years and I love it here. the community has changed over the years but just so quiet and peaceful here it like living in the suburbs. the park and the beautiful changes you see, all the season's from the first snow fall to the changes of the leaves its so beautiful in my neighborhood. would leave this area for no one.
