4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAdministration, Central Administration, and faculty have all changed dramatically since 2021, and under current leadership in the school and with the board and superintendent, things have improved over the past few years. Please consider meeting with them all before deciding this is such a horrible place in the current time. Also, the information about school leadership on this site is incorrect.Parent Review2y ago4 Reviews - Marie Curie Institute Of Engineering And Communica

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a member of the Taft Milette family, I am writing this openly and without reservation to express my deep disappointment and ongoing frustration with the culture and conduct we have repeatedly encountered at Mary Carey Institute. Time and again, we have attended school events only to be met with coldness, indifference, and a complete lack of basic courtesy, not just from the administrative staff but from the very educators entrusted with fostering a welcoming environment for students and families alike. Not once have we been greeted by the principal or acknowledged by any teachers at these events. Instead, we are met with disinterested stares, rude expressions, and what can only be described as a palpable sense of exclusion. These behaviors are not isolated incidents. They form a consistent pattern that has made my family feel so unwelcome and uncomfortable that we have been forced to leave events prematurely. No child or parent should ever be made to feel like an outsider in their own school community.I am particularly appalled by the demeanor of certain faculty members, including but not limited to the art teacher, whose attitude toward both students and parents has been nothing short of dismissive and disrespectful. It is unacceptable that individuals in positions of influence within an educational setting are allowed to carry themselves with such arrogance and disregard. At this point, I am no longer willing to remain silent. I will be reaching out to the superintendent, filing a formal complaint with the New York State Attorney General’s Office, and submitting an additional complaint to the New York State Education Department. The environment at Mary Carey Institute has become toxic and emotionally damaging, and it is imperative that this situation is investigated and addressed at the highest levels. My children deserve better. All children do. I refuse to allow this pattern of disrespect and exclusion to continue affecting them. We will not be attending any future events at Mary Carey Institute, and I urge other families to reflect on how they are being treated as well. This is no longer just about disappointment. It is about accountability.Sincerely,Taft Milette FamilyParent Review1y ago5 Reviews - Raphael J Mcnulty Academy For Intern Studies And L

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhile it's factual that Tecler had its problems in the past, the current administration, faculty, and staff are absolutely the best in the district and have been for a few years. There's not a single employee who doesn't truly care about every child they come across. Even those they have never taught! There are fun contests, events, and just an all-around sense of positive behavior and a comfortable yet structured learning environment. The students participate in a Leader in Me program, and there are advanced learning groups after school. Lots of love in this place! I wish my daughter could stay there through high school!Parent Review3y ago7 Reviews - William H Barkley Microsociety

"One of the most beautiful areas of Amsterdam. Beautiful houses, bigger quiet residential streets, lots of woods and privacy with views of the river."

"Like: many dogs and dog owners, most are very sweet and will chat with you. Shops and downtown areas are becoming more dog friendly! Dislike: unfortunately, there are typically a handful of owners that unleash their dogs in public spaces. Depending on the area, a lot of owners do not pick up after their dog. "

"A lot of people rely on taxis for transportation, and that's really the only public transportation there is within the city. You can take a Greyhound to other cities but that is about it."
