I left this school last year, and for good reason. It's a disaster. There's several fights a week, and constant hate speech from nearly every student. The majority of the teachers there try their best, but there's only so much you can do with no resources, unhelpful administration, and angry, violent children who are as a majority unmotivated, and in desperate need of counseling that cannot be given because each counselor has to deal with almost 500 people. At one point last year, I found a suicide note written on the wall of a bathroom stall, and while my teacher was very concerned and sent me to report it at the office, the woman who I told in the office couldn't care less about what might have happened to the student, only complaining to me about the hassle that cleaning up the wall would be. Someone's head was kicked into the concrete outside right after school got out, and the other students just filmed it and mocked her, as they did with every single act of violence that happened here. During class, students were calling each other slurs and saying other extremely offensive things to others based on their race, gender, disability, ect. and by the middle of the year, most of the teachers had simply given up, and did nothing about any of it unless it got physical, and even then not much was done, because fights were so common that no one cared anymore. I am meant to be on both a 504 plan and receive additional options and education through TAG. Most of my core teachers tried to do what they could for me as far as safety and mental health, but nothing came from the school itself, despite it being established not only by me and my family but also by psychologists that I was actively suicidal. And as far as the TAG services? There was absolutely nothing, which I don't fault any teachers for as they were rather busy with how horrific the behavior of other students was, but with the combination of everything that was missing and how awful the kids were, I was nearly constantly in some state of crisis, and when I could learn, there was nothing for me to do.The teachers need support, and the students need therapy. There's plenty people who I truly would believe anyone who told me that they went to jail of even died within the past year. It's so bad there I even feel bad for the people who made my life hell when I went there. DO NOT send your child here, they will come out of it hurt, angry, and probably bigoted.
