Fountaindale has a lot of great attributes. Some negative community attitudes bleed through, though still better than many. One commenter stated smaller class size...while they report student teacher ratios of 15:1, it's really fuzzy math. Actual ratio is around twice that. But they average in specialists who give the teacher breaks or teach specific subjects. But at no time that I'm aware of, are the classes split up, or with two teachers present at one time, so that there might be an actual ratio of 15:1. All the schools and districts at least in Maryland appear to be using this fuzzy math, so they must not consider it unethical or a misrepresentation. Just mentioning it because someone new to Maryland might interpret the reported student teacher ratio to be actual.

My child loves the school! Staff including asst principal have been supportive from the very beginning. Minimal fights from what I hear compared to northern middle (nightmare fights every day). Few things to address-Instead of children getting bullied I hear teachers are being bullied and mistreated - parents need to do better!Communication could be a little better as it relates to updates and school activities More resources to set youth up for success in employment/college readiness- maybe already exist but I am not fully aware.My child is thriving in this school. They currently take honor classes with hopes to pursue AP (highly recommend to enroll in if possible as this sets children apart to those who are little more focused/serious about their education/future)

This school is overall nice, teachers are nice, counsellors are really helpful, just don't mess with anyone, and stay away from bad kids, and you should be fine.
