7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSo far we have 2 kids that have attended school at CVHS and one at CVT. Two more will attend CV in the next couple years. The teachers have been kind. The school are both very nice inside. The band concerts and other school functions are well orchestrated. The office staff is great. All in all, we have had a very pleasant experience with the CV schools and have loved raising our kids in the Sunrise and Morningside areas.Parent Review8mo ago - Greenacres Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe principal seems like he is trying but this school appears to lack resources, professionalism among teachers, support and accountability. Curriculum and teaching strategies are not accessible to students with learning disabilities and most teachers struggle greatly to support students with learning differences. Overall most teachers opt for lengthy worksheet packets, busy work and rote learning. They do not use technology to support learning, which is surprising post COVID. Social emotional support is lacking with counselors meeting 1:1 with students in crisis instead of establishing a school wide plan to create a safe and inclusive environment. Bullying is common, as are the use of racial slurs among students. While the principal seems open to listening to parent concerns, we didn’t see change or accountability for staff to enforce any sort of rules or classroom management and the overall environment was not conducive to learning. As far as special education, this school does not involve parent voice in developing a plan for their child, they do not provide evidence based services and they will pass your child through. As far as safety, this school tolerates violence, racism and discrimination. The building is frequently vandalized with bathrooms regularly closed due to vandalism. Communication is horrible with teachers entering grades last minute and not communicating concerns to parents in a timely manner, and a lack of professionalism when they do finally communicate through Powerschool. Expect hours of homework along the way, which doesn’t seem to benefit your child and negatively impacts family life.I think a small subset of kids will survive this school without major damage. Most will have experienced bullying by both teachers and other students and severe stress. If your child has a diagnosed disability and is in need of accommodations or special education, look at alternatives.Parent Review7mo ago - Check out schools near 18623 E 9th Ct.

"Our little cul de sac is pretty tight-knit. Neighbors know and look out for each other. We know one another’s vehicles and call a neighbor if something seems out of place. "

"Move here in June of 23. I am quite a senior citizen...very, very nice. To my surprise, many seniors live here. Everyone says hello. Mgt goes out of their way to keep you informed and has pleasant surprises in the lobby. A couple of maint on the grounds all day. No loud cars, immature tenants, etc. If a 1br ap is available first floor with the C - C-Trail just feet away..Take in no matter the price, rent it...to die for. The Gym, really nice. A lot of families with children...Perfect! Dog park is always used, all dogs are on a leash. Yup...5 Stars, well done. Mack Foss"
