They are rude when calling in or coming into the office and clearly do not need to be working with people! My oldest has had no issues in the two years she's been attending, but it has been one problem after another with my youngest. He was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 4 when he was in 4K and the teacher continuously singled him out rather than trying to help him. His kindergarten teacher actually told me if he wasn't medicated to not send him to school because she couldn't handle him. The teacher he has this year has experience working with children with disabilities and ADHD like my son, so she understands and has tried her best to work with him. My child's doctor wrote a letter of recommendation to get him on an IEP, yet the school told me he didn't need that and instead put him on a 504 plan. The school has no resources as far was helping students with learning disabilities or those that are "different" than the normal student. I feel as if he is singled out and punished for his actions instead of them being understanding of his issues and trying to help him when needed. I attempted to transfer both of my children to another school in the district, but I was quickly shot down with no explanation other than "not approved".Parent Review4y ago - Laurens District 55 High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI used to go here for kindergarten to 3rd grade then I moved away but I went back for half of my seventh grade year and I moved again I'm in 8th at a different school right now but I miss hickory tavern it is so fun people aren't really mean and they teachers are nice I love this school and would do anything to go back!!!!Student Review6mo ago
