My son is in first grade and his kindergarten teachers ms Elisa and Ms Kendall and Ms lopez are amazing the boys and girls club are amazing but his first grade teacher has spent two days messaging me trying to convince me that a song that all the students sing to each other was meant racially from my son due to him having lighter skin.which is crazy considering everyone on his dad's side is tongan and black. I feel that she is pushing her unconscious bias on my 6 year old child I had asked her repeatedly to stop making it a race thing I feel the principle listens to entertain u but really when it comes to taking action she does as only she sees fit with no consideration outside of her view thank God for Ms Erica in the front she is what holds that office afloat she treats everyone the se and her interaction with students has always surpassed those of her peers Can't wait to transfer

Im currently on lockdown and I really think that they should step up their game. I mean cmon its the 2nd to last week of school and I'm currently wearing a suit. How am I supposed to run if I need to? Also the school food could be a bit better, I mean most of the fruit isn't that ripe. I might be allergic to Pineapple since my tongue get tingly when I eat it but I keep eating it anyway. About that lockdown, its been about 30 minutes since we had to run back inside. My back hurts, but maybe thats because I slouch and I have scoliosis. I got it from having to carry a shoulder every day for 2 years in Bowditch Middle School (would not recommend going there too.) I like the teachers and I will say, Mr. Chen does a good job keeping us safe. He also gave out free chips and chocolates, which is better than many airlines and events i've been to. Why are airlines so bad at customer service? And how is a music teacher doing better at taking care of people in an emergency situation than United Airlines? Actually never mind, Aragon is a great school, and the airlines need to learn about customer service from them. Oh, the Wi-fi in this school sucks too they should do something about it. Do you guys think I should get a perm? I've been researching about them and I'm starting to think about doing it.

TLDR: As parents who carefully researched other highly sought-after schools in the district before enrolling, we have found Bayside's strengths to be underestimated and its reputation to lag behind the reality of today's school.Our family has been at Bayside for two years, and our experience has been overwhelmingly positive. Growing up in FC and SM and attending highly regarded local schools myself, I was familiar with Bayside's reputation from decades ago. In our experience, that reputation no longer reflects the school today.The teachers are caring, capable, and genuinely invested in their students. Children clearly enjoy and respect them—you regularly see students excited to greet their teachers and share accomplishments. The campus feels safe, and the uniform policy simplifies mornings while reducing social pressure.The school community reflects the diversity of the neighborhood. Families come from many cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, including technology, healthcare, trades, and small business professions. Parents have been welcoming and supportive. As a future Title I school, Bayside receives additional resources that directly benefit students and families.Learning & Teaching (4/5)Students appear engaged and happy with what they are learning. Our child regularly brings home classwork and enjoys explaining what he learned during the week. A highlight has been music instruction provided through a local nonprofit organization.The academic program emphasizes foundational skills, independence, executive functioning, and positive learning habits. Highly accelerated learners may benefit from additional enrichment outside school, but Bayside offers extracurricular opportunities including sports, art, music, and STEAM activities. We appreciate the focus on building strong fundamentals.Students have Chromebooks, but instruction remains largely teacher-led, interactive, and hands-on.We have encountered several excellent teachers, including some who are National Board Certified. Teachers are engaging, organized, kind, and dedicated to helping students succeed.Social-Emotional Support, Safety (5/5)One of Bayside's strengths is its focus on character development to be Kind, Safe, Respectful, and Responsible. Positive behavior is reinforced through a "Kudos" system that students genuinely value. Student behavior are addressed through a structured process with follow up with parents.PTA is active without being overwhelming.
