Awesome school. My child has attended all three years. The sixth grade teachers are nurturing and very structured. The seventh grade teachers are enthusiastic and really pass thaton to the students. The eighth grade teachers are powerhouses. The English teacher is Teacher of the Year in Montgomery County, the science teacher is solid and prepared my child well for the ecology magnet program in PHS. The math teachers are incredible, they leave no stone unturned and really hold the students accountable.

Monocacy is a wonderful school. The environment is welcoming and inclusive and the teachers are excellent. The class sizes are small and mostly one class per grade. Both my sons were Bobcats and had fantastic experiences there. This schools is an amazing public school in one of the best districts in the country. Monocacy feeds to Poolesville High School which regularly ranks as the number one school in Maryland and on the top list across the country. We are very grateful to have had the chance to send our children to Monocacy.

I love this school. PHS is a great place to feel comfortable, prepare for college, and recieve useful knowledge. Every program is unique and interactive. Personally, I am a Global Ecology student, and I absolutely LOVE the program. It's so inclusive and the field trips provide so much experience. My first field trip was a camping/hiking trip to Harper's Ferry in the first 3 WEEKS of school. The teachers are amazing and I can guarantee you, most students like almost all of their teachers on the first day. There is absolutely no bullying or safety concerns, as most students are very education-focused. Although the work load can be stressful, there is no useless/busy work assigned as homework. I feel incredibly immersed in what I learn, and honestly, it is so worth the bus ride. There are so many extra curricular activities at PHS, and the clubs and sports are diverse. Mental health matters a lot to the administration, and they listen to their students. For example, only certain classes can test on certain days, like math classes only test on Wednesdays or Fridays. The staff listens to the students. Families are welcome and they are definitely shown as partners in their children's learning, and this is shown on the school website. Activities and community events are always showing up, and it's really inclusive. Overall, great school, I love it here, and it's only my first month of starting PHS.
