1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter attended school here and had so many behavioral issues due to staff and peers. She was bullied and jumped by a bunch of 4th graders at recess and the principle refused to have 3rd and 4th graders have recess at separate times. I pulled my daughter from this school in Nov 2024 and immediately we seen great results at her new school in a new district. She had so many emotional issues at New York that we had to pull her. Which the right thing to do. Don't send your children to Usd497. Trust a parent who had 2 kids in this district. It was a nightmare and costed us thousands of dollars to correct by moving and getting our children therapy because of this district. 4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has abysmal engagement and communication with parents and terrible student support particularly with matters pertaining to ADHD. Staff don’t seem to be able to adequately and equitably provide supervision to students. Our experience has been that the current Principle is unable to regulate herself and her responses to students. Our experience continues to be that the principle sets a hostile tone for students, lacking objectivity or insight in the social dynamics and relationships of teens. I will allow that this could be a reasonable environment for neurotypical children, as I don’t have current experience. However, with over 25+ years of parenting. experience and specialized training in child development myself, this has been the worst school my children have attended. It certainly does not seem to have improved in the space of years in which my children have attended this school.Parent Review1y ago - Lawrence High School
