"This is a little niche of heaven. Quiet nights, good neighbors, a small but vibrant arts community all combine to make this a great place to raise a family. Lots of space for animals here. A short walk to the bus stop takes you anywhere in Portland within an hour. The bus on the corner goes directly to Clackamas Town Center. The little town of Estacada, Oregon is a ten minute drive. There is a nice, family feel to the town, and an intense sense of community there. Monthly arts events have included concerts by the Oregon Symphony and plays by well-known theater companies. Visual arts abound. The walls of Estacada are covered with lovely murals painted each year during the Estacada Summer Celebration: three days of concerts, food, and fun. The Clackamas River and nearby Faraday Dam provide fishing and picnic fun, and the community sits right on the edge of the Mount Hood National Forest. If you want to be close to a major metropolitan area but not have to fight the big-city traffic or listen to the big-city noise; if you like the splendor of the great outdoors and the fresh air of country living, this place is for you."
