Our children have had great teachers at Gisler, including the best teacher in the district, at least. Both of our children have been on multiple enriching field trips this year and most years in their time at Gisler. I have been allowed to volunteer my time in the classroom for many classes including this year for both of my children's teachers. This has included leading small reading groups on a regular basis which has been wonderful to be so involved in the classroom community and the children's learning. Gisler has help numerous special assemblies, programs and enrichment events each year including the one book, one school program, farmers' market assemblies and engaging growth mindset presentations. In addition to the programs during school hours, the PTO has held multiple family and parent education nights which have been wonderful skill and community building events. This year we received important and effective social-emotional support for a social situation, which was remedied with leadership, skill building and counseling headed by the principal herself. That presence and support made all the difference and we are thankful our kids are not left to their own (insufficient) devices in new and sometimes difficult social situations at school. The school offers fun fundraising events like skate nights and jog-a-thons. Gisler families are phenomenal and the Gisler community is well connected and growing more so. The principal is dedicated to her school and models a growth mindset by making continual improvements, which is clear to see. Overall, we have had a wonderful experience at Gisler and our children have loved their experience there!
