Hello, I am a former graduate from Haxtun High School and I have a few things to say about the school especially since they’ve turned off their google reviews. Haxtun school is known for their sports such as football, basketball, baseball and volleyball. The school pays so much attention to the sports side of school that they didn’t even realize that me and maybe a few other kids throughout middle got published in poetry books multiple times and it had never gotten acknowledged till we brought it up that we were going to be published for possibly the last time for awhile. It took them 5 or 6 years to give us the recognition that we deserved and by that time we only had a year to half a year left of schooling. I also wanna talk about how they rarely do anything about bulling that happens inside of the building. Kids with the more well known last names almost never receive a fair consequence for the things said for done. As someone who dealt with billing in the school, I can say I was disappointed any time I got any principal involved because they wouldn’t acknowledge the situation in what felt like wasn’t the right way. I understand that having good grades is awesome but it feels like that is pushed so much more then students own mental health. Mental health is more important than grades, you cannot change my mind on that. I would also like to touch on a point that they spend money on things that aren’t largely necessary. The school recently got a grant and are wanting to make big changes, again most not necessary. I could walk around the school with a couple of people and we could have a list of things that actually need fixed in that school that aren’t going to be fixed with that grant. I don’t recommend Haxtun School.
