The new principal thrives on the drama of the students. He has a few favorites that he favors and everyone else he acts like they are there just for his own amusement. He chooses drama over the child’s well-being and you’ll often see him smile when bad situations arise.I gave it two stars because there are some good teachers there but it’s drowned out by the office staff. The counselors don’t seem to care about students who are not juniors or seniors. My child wanted to work on getting ahead to graduate early and the counselors never gave my student the time of day and never returned my emails because my student is not set to graduate soon enough. The front office lady gives student attitude when asking questions or turning in forms. That whole office is just a mess. Don’t get me started on the school lunches…. If you can choose what school your child can go to, I’d pick one that is focused on helping your child succeed, not focused on what the current drama is and blatantly ignores students requests to help them succeed in the future.

We moved specifically to this district as it was rumored to be excellent. We are very disappointed with the lack of instruction and fundamental learning. My son consistently holds an A or B in math, yet the little I do see of his work, he is almost entirely unable to work the problems himself. Their standards for safety are ridiculously low and security seems to be more about keeping parents out than our children safe, who leave their class and return as they please. I told my daughter's teacher last year that she needed to focus more on reading as she was falling behind, the teacher disagreed and said she was doing quite well. Her recent state scores show that there is more than cause for concern. Teaching here seems to focus on snack time, movies and wasting kid's time with new and fun ways to do things that simply do not carry forward or cause more confusion for the child. Meanwhile, there is a lot less learning and an aversion to homework that leaves our children with an inferior education that just breaks my heart. What happened to healthy repetition for greater retention?
