4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLakewood is terrible. Most of the teacher don't care about their students education and only a handful of teachers do care about students. They advertise that they care about students and have zero tolerance for bullying but yet students cyber bullying and jumping other students is a common thing for Lakewood, other students going in groups to physically hurt student is frequent. The cliques at Lakewood disclude students of differences, which is why I don't recommend parents taking their children to LMS.Parent Review3y ago8 Reviews - Lakewood High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child attends Lakewood. The high school is beautiful and they offer a variety of programs. My child is also an athlete, a serious one, and I do feel that athletics and clubs are critical for kids. Either to keep them out of trouble by staying busy and developing a love for a sport or in some cases keep them away from home and productive longer while learning about teamwork. Sadly coaching choices do not seem to be made strategically, but rather for convenience. Watching some of their teams has become quite painful. Instead of a coach exuding leadership you have coaches who feel being buddy buddy with players is most important and just watching them “coach” it’s obvious to former parent athletes that those making coaching choices do not know what they are doing. The coaches are not coaching - let’s open our eyes while watching some of our sports. Everyone who sees our school is amazed at our newer building. It looks sleek and smart yet you show up to sporting events with players on the bench in random attire. When you have various team members in plaid PJ pants your team and school looks like a bunch of slobs who are not serious and it reflects on your district as a whole. You’re playing against teams that all suit up or at least wear school warmup attire if not playing. Develop a simple code of conduct, follow your sports teams and see how your coaching choice is really panning out. Stop using excuses like the team is young - good coaches make good players out of any age. Please stop double dipping the staff. Hire a proper Athletic Director that has some class, make sure it’s their only administrative position, and that they understand the importance of qualified coaches and school image. You have major athletes already planning to leave for other schools due to these problems, yet no one inside thinks there is an issue. I hate to admit in considering this with my own also.Parent Review6mo ago9 Reviews - English Crossing Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school appears to be a case study in performative hiring over competence. While the teachers are commendable, the administration is a trainwreck—utterly devoid of professionalism, empathy, or even basic operational competence. As a parent, expect your emails and phone calls to vanish into the abyss. Communication is nonexistent, accountability is a foreign concept, and the leadership seems more interested in optics than outcomes.Parent Review1y ago5 Reviews - Check out schools near 17820 3rd Ave NE.

"The huge amount of children. The fact that old town does lots of community events. Lots of dog owners and active people. I can walk to 3 different parks from my home- one of which is on the river and has a fenced dog park. It’s a great spot. Centennial trail is one of my favorites to take down to the water front park and back with my doggos. "

"I live in Arlington and do not like all the drugs here. It is like living in Woodstock. There is a no leash dog park on 152nd street. You may want to wear boots in the rainy season."

"The Farmers Market every Saturday from 10-2pm is so fun and a great way to support local businesses. Arlington Hardware in old town is the one stop shop for everything you need. The Co-Op Supply is pet friendly and has everything you need for your pets or live stock. Aside from that, if your a social butterfly like myself, the White Horse Salon in town is a blast!! I love to take my dogs here and play pool with friends. The best thing about this town is the sense of community. I know the owners to almost every business and regularly make new friends who are also local or new to the area. There is nothing like running into great people you know everywhere you go. I love it. "There are little to no community events in this area. The have been several reports of stolen packages, the parking is very bad if you have a second car. Several of my neighbors have had their gas cipher from their cars."

"A short drive to most everywhere. Restaurants, freeway entrance, schools. Traffic near the airport has gotten thicker with all the residences being built. Once they widen the road, it’ll be a lot better."

"People are always out walking their dogs, however the yards in this area tend to get small so if you have a bigger dog find a nearby park or runner. The neighbors don’t like visits from the neighboring dogs if they decide to explore."

"Nice mix of modern convenience, small town feel, and neighborhood feel. It is super nice to be able to walk your kids to school and dance class as well as running into or meeting up with people you know around town. "

"My neighborhood is dog friendly depending on the breed of dog if your a pit bull owner or a or any other breed labeled as a more aggressive or dangerous breed of dog my neighborhood wouldn’t be so welcoming to them! Which is bs!"
