"Connecticut is particularly safe for children. Besides being a very green state Great place to have a family."
  • Kelly Baker
"Lots of dogs and mostly responsible about picking up after their dogs .wish there was a dog park near the top of Clifton"
  • Trulia User
"My neighbor is pretty nice and have a nice trail walk. You are Less than 10 minutes from Downtown New Haven where you can find great shops,Yale university and great fine dine. You also have Union station (Train) that travel north to Springfield or take the train to NYC. Only down fall is traffic but now a days there traffic everywhere. "
  • Trulia User
"I been living here for 20 years with no issues with the exception of the old eastern circle kids coming this way "
  • Trulia User
"I am not in the air for three years now and there’s a lot of I’m not great neighborhood for your kids very right you over here if you need transportation because you don’t have a vehicle it’s hard to get reliable transportation over here"
  • Trulia User
"I live here for 18 years and I love my area the neighborhood is great and the ease of moving about is great "
  • Eric B.
"People walk their dogs and most pick up after them, most Neighbors have a dog so it’s a common sight in the community "
  • Brandonmiller190
"great areas to live in if I could I'd love back out there the only thing is the rent is too high for places that aren't well taken care of to move people into "
  • Susan B. .
"we really don't have neighborhood get togethers, it would be nice back in the 80s we did. Things have changed since then. "
  • Sarah B
"I’ve lived here for 5 years. When I moved here I thought it had so much potential to become a nice part of New Haven. But not much has changed. Time to move on. "
  • Catherine S.
"I’ve been renting here for 5 years and am excited to move out. The neighborhood ranges from houses in serious need of repair by slumlords to some beautifully restored Victorians. Views of the river are fantastic from some houses."
  • Jenniferestrada97
"The neighbors all get along and all children have the privilege to play around the kids are always happy "
  • Monstritolindo1
"Quite and very close to Downtown New Haven! 7 minutes away from fine dine and Yale New Haven Hospital and University. "
  • Whitfieldroyce7
"Quite. Nice area. People are cool. Close to the highway and stores. Clean neighborhood. Family oriented "
  • Fixwood
"Increased crime in recent year or two. Police presence in Fair Haven Heights is stretched thin due to their large geographic area, as compared to FairHaven proper (directly across river). I have lived in the area or over five years and have been robbed, mugged or burglurized several times. Police response has been slow and at times even indifferent. Perhaps they have bigger fish to fry. My neighbors have also been robbed. I opened a P.O. Box for deliveries as it is unsafe to have packages left on the porch. I plan to move over to Fair Haven where there is better lighting and traffic...and hopefully better policing."
