About this House

This beautiful 4 bed, 3 bath, ranch style, executive home was built in 2007 and is waiting for one very fortunate new owner, sitting high atop Shiras Hills looking out over Lake Superior on just under an acre and a half. It has amazing presence from the road with it's convenient pull through driveway, brick exterior, arched column porch, ornate windows, and window boxes... so much curb appeal! Once inside you'll be greeted by an amazing great room with soaring vaulted ceilings, a floor to ceiling custom brick fireplace, amazing views of the lake, and the custom gourmet kitchen. This kitchen will please even the most choosy of chefs with its plentiful cabinet and counter space, granite counter tops, custom cherry cabinetry with soft close feature, large breakfast bar for buffet style meals, pantry, and stainless steal appliances. There is also a door to the large back deck right off the kitchen, making grilling out a cinch. The floors throughout the great room are genuine hardwood floors or ceramic, travertine and marble. Great attention to detail was taken in the finishes of this home. Should you like to use the second bedroom as an office/library, you will have your own, private master wing. The master suite boasts beautiful views of back yard/lake, large walk-in closet with built-in storage, and master bath that is to die for, with dual vanity, jetted tub, and separate low threshold shower. The main floor could easily be used for one floor living as one ages. The two car attached garage provides easy access to the kitchen for convenient grocery unloading. You'll notice that the lower level feels like an extension of the home rather than a "basement" with its 10 foot ceilings, arched doorways, brick columns, and walk out sliding glass door to the second lower deck. The family/rec room is plenty large enough for big screen television, bar, pool table, what ever you like! The third and fourth bedrooms are true conforming bedrooms with closets and egress windows allowing for plenty of natural light. The third bathroom, laundry room, and large sauna are also on this level. There is also a spacious storage room and a separate utility room with high efficiency furnace, water heater, and 200 amp service panel. This home is an estate sale and is listed under the state equalized value of 408k. Luxury awaits you! Welcome home!

"This city is full of nature, adventure, and excitement! Hiking, kayaking, walking around downtown listening to live music in the summer. These are a few of the many incredible things to do in Marquette. The U.P. Has a very loyal culture and many diverse peoples due to being a college town. "
  • Brittany B.
"Close to the high school, hospital, and the university! Quiet neighborhood, and a great neighborhood to live in!"
  • Setonsieracki
"Commute around town is simple. I typically walk to and from in colder weather. When warm out I bike. Only drive when time is limited or the distance is greatest. Great town NOT to drive."
  • Zack D.
"All of Marquette is very dog friendly. Thereโ€™s a dog park nearby and tons of trails. Many people in town have dogs. "
  • Cali H.
"Everyone seems dog friendly. However, in apartments, not a lot of yardage to run the dogs! But there are dog friendly parks and lots of trails in Marquette which is good. "
  • Emilly L.
"People drive really fast so you have to make sure your dog doesnโ€™t accidentally get loose. The side walks are nice for walking your pet and people seem friendly."
  • Unknown N.
"Marquette is these biggest city in the area. It acts as for the Center for government in Michigan in the UP. For that reason it seems bigger than it really is. The education and healthcare in the area is outstanding."
  • Bammert70
"There are lots of other dogs, mainly pitbulls, but they are friendly. there are many younger kids that will run around and play with the dogs if they are out. "

  • Lizpaepke
"I am just visiting it is beautiful up here. Love the lake cute downtown area. Good sidewalks for walking good beach area"
  • Shannon D.
"I've lived here for about 10 years. it's a large neighborhood and we're at the very end of I've side so we only have 2 immediate neighbors. I know a few other people in the neighborhood from birding interests. "
  • SSulskis
    "Nice quiet clean community"
  • dperlove
"This is a safe neighborhood, well maintained properties, nestled into the foothills of Marquette Mountain. Some lots abut a green strip with frequent sightings of deer and a variety of migratory birds during the summer months. Downtown is more than a short walk but is a reasonable bike ride away (warm months). Otherwise public transport is available from the front door. Snow plowing is excellent on Altamont and you can always get out during winter if you keep the foot of your driveway clear. Marquette has just the right amount of tourism to support a variety of sporting events and festivals during all seasons but not so much tourism that it feels like a congested bigger tourist area like Traverse City. There are a least three local micro-brewries, several good restaurants, and always entertainment, especially on weekends. Marquette is growing just enough to support continuous improvements and developments of its parks and attractions and there are at least two (three star type) hotels and along with a number of nice chain hotels for visitors. Downtown becomes almost magical in the wintertime with its snow-capped sandstone facades and "lit-up" trees. Being situated on a bay of Lake Superior makes Marquette one the the most picturesque small towns in the Midwest. "
