4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter is in third grade and has been at Dora Moore since Kindergarten. She has loved it every single year. Her teachers have been warm and engaging and incredibly competent. The principal, Mr. Janson, is about the best principal you can imagine. He knows everyone's name, kids and parents alike, and he supports the staff and students with everything they need. The school community is probably the best part of the school though. The school puts on awesome events, the kids all get along, and the parents are really supportive of each other.Parent Review2mo ago26 Reviews - KIPP Sunshine Peak Academy

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son went to this school for less than a school year and was bullied several times with NOTHNG being done about it or to the bullies. I had to threaten to have the police called if it happened again before they "found" a way to put him on the other 6th grade block. He was still bullied with nothing being done, even had a child punch him in the face and nothing was done. I had a child (who I later found out had a 1-to-1 paraprofessional) approach my car in the lot as I was picking my son up with no adult in sight. They have asked me THREE times if we are moving him to another school and all three times I have said yes and given them the name of the school he will be attending. THREE times?! That's crazy! I don't know what the admin and staff are doing but it is definitely not taking care of our children and ensureing their safety!Parent Review10mo ago9 Reviews - Kunsmiller Creative Arts Academy

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI had my reservations about sending my daughter to this school because of the 2 out of 10 it received on this website. Once I realized that the academic rating is for K-12 and that the elementary level has much better scoring than that, I felt more comfortable. A few things that I love about this school. First, my daughter is able to do dance, drama, art, and music at school. It is less time away from home in the evenings because I don't have to put her in outside classes. Secondly, the teachers at this school (speaking at the elementary level) are outstanding. I've been so impressed with their level of commitment to helping all of the children excel. My child was already reading when she started kindergarten, but they have been wonderful about differentiating for her and others, and they have a great gifted and talented teacher who works with the kids as well.Last of all, the elementary level principal is awesome! She collaborates with teachers and parents and is constantly working to improve the school (on all levels. i.e. teaching, data, culture). This school has a great community feel and gives great academic opportunities as well as art-filled experiences.Parent Review10y ago9 Reviews - Strive Prep - Westwood Campus

Students are supported emotionally, socially, and academically in a safe, joyful, and knowledge-rich learning environment that sets our scholars up for success in high school, college and beyond. 4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHonestly, As a parent I find these other reviews hilariously ridiculous. One review is from a parent who cares enough about their student to leave a bad review but not enough to help them dress according to the rules, the other two are from parents who are obviously disengaged from the school and are rating it off of second hand information. The truth is that the school's Principle, leadership and teachers are great, and really care about the students. The area around the school (where I reside) is a troubled community and the strides Kepner has made in such a short time is no less than amazing. I love this school, and my students do too. The difference between my review and these others is that mine is from a first hand account aswell as from an engaged parent who is active in this school. I could not say enough good things about this school. Is it perfect? No...but no school is. However, people need to stop blaming schools when in reality the issue is their lack of parent involvement.Parent Review3y ago4 Reviews - DSST: College View Middle School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a legal guardian, I was deliberately excluded from my child’s education without any court order. The school relied on false internal forms to grant others access and decision-making authority while refusing to recognize my lawful parental rights. Staff repeatedly dismissed my role as a parent, causing emotional distress to my child and harm to his education. This is a serious failure of legal compliance and accountability that should never occur in a public school.Parent Review5mo ago2 Reviews - West Middle School

"Cap Hill is beautiful. Historic buildings, close to Broadway and Colfax for restaurants and nights out. Close to Cherry Creek trail. Overall, I feel safe walking my dog during the day. So many beautiful trees and homes to look at walking through the neighborhood! "

"The location is great, not too close, not too far from downtown, and near all the sights, It's a real neighborhood, very walkable with shops and stores nearby. I think my favorite thing about it is the charm, i love to walk around and look at the unique turn of the century buildings on the tree-lined streets."

"I typically bike or walk, I work a 3 min drive away but downtown doesn’t have a lot of parking. Bike lanes are fairly easy to come by if you know the right streets, and walking is easy if you avoid colfax."

"Easy commute most places, I would like more specified bike lanes however. Right now some are just shared lanes which can always be improved by a whole separate lane. "

"This is not a family-friendly neighborhood. Most people I see out and about as well as those in my building are young, single party-types. That was me up until a few months ago when I found out I was pregnant. I will be moving west to the foothills/suburbia in August to foster a safer, happier life and future for my baby. Overall, denver/cap hill is just too loud, busy, and congested."
