Overall, I feel like this school is okay. The kids are lovely, really splendid. They're way nicer and behave better than the kids at my old school. The students and staff don't behave as weird as them, too, which is another plus. This school does have problems, though. They give way too much homework. I have to spend three to six hours every night working on it!On the other hand, the teachers and leadership are okay. The teachers could do better, but at least they aren't doing their worst. The leadership could also be better. They have rules in their student handbook that they don't enforce, like no backpacks, the dress code, and hall passes. Almost everyone carries their stuff in backpacks, lots of kids wear crop tops and sometimes hoods and baseball caps, and no one writes passes even though these rules are listed in the handbook. I also wouldn't say I like that they don't have honours classes and only have one AP course because I'm stuck with lots of kids who don't seem to know things that should be fundamental (e.g. figurative language, the word "dew", etc.). I've tried to switch to independent study for one of my courses since another school has an online honours course, but the staff kind of brushed me off. Also, the classes are too short, so the teachers rush and we don't get to do a lot of hands on things. The school's character is good, but they aren't the best at accommodating students with learning differences. It is so hard for me to get done with my work, and I'm so overwhelmed. Also, only one of my teachers actually makes sure I'm doing well (with my time at school in general, not making sure I have an A), but I think that could be because he probably knows how it is for students like me in school. He's also the best teacher I have and is the only one who teaches every day, except when there's a test. The others like to assign busy work or make us read out loud instead of teaching.They do a significant job handling bullying, though. Kids get sent to the principal to get yelled at if they're mean, which doesn't happen very much since it's a small school. He seems like someone you don't want to try to mess with, so that's good.Overall, I give this school three stars. It's okay. Take it or leave it. If your kid is getting bullied at their current school, send them here, but otherwise, if you can find something better go with that
