Description

Near new house available May 1st. The two-story home has 3 bedrooms(upstairs) and two bathrooms(one up, one down). The first floor is an open floor plan with large patio doors leading from both the dining and living room to the backyard/patio with an irrigated, raised garden bed and detached storage shed.

Fantastic daylight, quartz countertops, almost new appliances, and laundry. Hard surface floors on the main living level and hardwood floors going up the stairs and in the upstairs bedrooms. The upstairs bathroom has a custom tiled tub/shower and the lower level has a custom tiled shower. The home has a sleek, clean feel following a modern style. There is also one off-street parking space with EV charging outlet ready for your charger.

A great deal of care was taken to make this house as energy efficient as possible. The house was built following Passivhaus principles (the most aggressive energy-efficiency certification) and has produced enough solar energy to power the home along with some to spare. (for an electric vehicle?)

The location is perfect. A few blocks from the up and coming West Berkeley neighborhood with Cafe Leila, Casa Latina, La Marcha, Highwire Coffee Roasters, and a variety of other shops. The 4th street area is also a short walk as is the waterfront bike path. It's a 12-minute walk to BART and 1 block from the Transbay bus line (About 30 minutes to get to the Transbay Terminal in downtown SF).

Please email me if you are interested in discussing the home further and scheduling a walk through.

All electricity produced by solar system is included in rental price. Tenant is responsible for water and any electricity beyond what the solar system produces.

Minimum credit score of 700 for each adult tenant and combined income of at least $189,000. Children are welcome and ONE PET will be considered on a case by case basis. Please email me if you are interested in discussing the home further and scheduling a walk through. There is no gas bill and solar system is designed to cover typical electricity use. Owner pays trash.

"they would love to take their pets to the park in the area. they may not like the parking availability at certain times throughout the day. "
  • Trulia User
"There are a lot of dog walkers around during the day time, but the street lighting isn’t consistent. Also, nearby parks do not feel very safe before sunrise or after sunset. There are frequent assaults reported in the area. I make a point to only walk my dog during the day and without headphones in, so that I can be aware of my surroundings. "
  • Trulia User
"The neighbors in general are great, the gardens - well kept, there are tons of stores and things to do. "
  • Hector R.
"Berkeley is a great city to live in. Beautiful views of the bay, restaurants and shopping are close by. Sidewalks and roads need major improvement."
  • Alondratrevino
"Very easy commute to San Francisco. Transbay bus is 5 mins walking and Bart is 20 mins walking or 5 mins driving."
  • Sue H.
"Walk to work or bart and walk. Easy to get around via public transportation (bus and BART) or walk. "
  • Alondratrevino
"Awesome shops restaurants and quality coffee shops a couple blocks away. The chamber of commerce also throws many cool festivals throughout the year. Love this area!!"
  • Alondratrevino
"Neighbors with dogs walk with them all the time and are respectful of public spaces. Also, most dogs are well educated and don't bark was much."
  • Wendellsouzadesign

  • Bgates
"I've lived in this neighborhood for thirty years and I love it. We are very close friends with our immediate neighbors and friends with many others. We enjoy the walks, restaurants, cafes, the library and grocery stores—all in easy walking distance. Public transportation is easily available, a few minutes walk. This is a great neighborhood to have a dog and to raise children."
  • Sue H.
"The Bart is a short walk which makes getting around convenient- particularly to the Cal Campus from the Downtown Berkeley BART station."
  • Sue H.
"Typical town stuff- fall festival, harvest festival, farmers markets are nice and most things are walkable. Typical problems with any urban area."
  • slwhite_510
"I have lived in the area for over 10 years. There are so many restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, grocery stores, etc within walking distance or within a five minute drive. North Berkeley Bart is within a 7 minute walk; SF express bus lines on Gilman and San Pablo. Amtrak (in Emeryville) is within a 7-10 min drive. The area is bike friendly. It’s single and family area. Lots to do!"
  • Shane H.
"This neighborhood keeps getting better! Phillz coffee, Acme Bread, 4th Street Shopping, etc. We love starting our family here."
  • kimsyer
"I have lived in this neighborhood for close to three years now. I spend a lot of time on the street walking my dog and walking with my child and feel very much 'at home' here. I've met lovely people and feel the location is one of the best in Berkeley. Others in the area feel the same way. "
  • jrout1
"Having lived at different locations in Berkeley for the past 15 years, currently in North West Berkeley, this neighborhood is one of the nicer places in town. A stone-throw from the freeway, a short walk to Bart, quiet, friendly neighbors."
