"This area to me isn't a good area to live or raise children, just being honest, alot of homeless and high crime."
  • Trulia User

"Excellent. I work at home. So I don’t have to drive right now. When I did, it was the most terrifying seven miles on Eastbound 80 into West Berkeley. Almost always. It was not healthy. "
  • Alex K.
"Mostly quiet, lots of cute houses, very diverse (age, race, household size, income) and overall great area. On street parking is usually not a problem but the streets got a bit crowded recently. Many long-term residents and owner occupied homes. Budding local business scene. good grocery, food, drink options nearby. walkable and easily bike-able to BART. "
  • Trulia User
"We have a brand new elementary school in the neighborhood; Michelle Obama Elementary. It’s very walkable and not far from the popular Solano Playlot. "

  • Trulia User
"It could be safer!! And Cleaner, way too much trash it’s gross. More regular patrol would be appreciated people speed. It’s not safe in that regard either "
  • Trulia User
"The Bay Trail is easily accessible ant provides a great way to get outside daily. The marina with the two restaurants is a start but, the area needs a farmers market and other services and shops,"
  • Trulia User
"Bart is close, we can walk to either of 2 stations. There is also casual carpool nearby..............."
  • Trulia User
"Lots of dogs. In general people pick up after their animals. Some times a British Shorthair is walked on a leash in the neighborhood."
  • Monica
"Richmond is a diamond in a rough! Conveniently located just 30 minutes away from San Francisco, it is the last affordable place to buy a house in a whole Bay Area. Its' convenience and potential is yet to be discovered by bay area residents. It has everything one needs: BART, Amtrak, Ferry to SF, grocery stores, newly built hospitals and other amenities. Crime rates have gone down significantly, making it a safe place to live and work. Also, Richmond is working hard to build housing for homeless people, while Berkeley, Oakland, SF ignore this problem. Richmond has a a bright future with all measure they take. No wonder why UC Berkeley is going to build a new laboratory in Richmond."
  • Bart D.
"There is a bus line right around the corner that will take you to CC college. You can then transfer buses there to get around."
  • Elaine.carbonell
"They just finished building Michelle Obama School (formerly Wilson Elem) and it is gorgeous. the neighborhood is up and coming and I do love it. "
  • Re_revilloza
"Commute is decent both ways depending on what time you leave. Obviously peak commute hours are always bad in any area"
  • Alison M.
"Live music, concerts, holiday seasonal lights and decorations, annual junktique, there is a nice sense of community here."
  • Colin.fahrion
"Farmers market is the main one especially the fishmonger. And the off the Grid food trucks on a Wednesday are great"
  • Kim T.
"Beautiful waterfront trail for dogs and their dog owners. There’s access to the Bay to cool off the dogs."
  • Abel M.
"Stray dogs come around here and there and the dogs that live here bark a lot walking you’re dog In the afternoon would be most ideal would not suggest late night walks "
  • Gdragonfly2024
"I believe it’s just crowded and needs a little more cleaning and maintenance by all the neighbors to create a community "
  • David_castro1987
"Block parties once or twice a year. Also a garbage dumpster once or twice a year for all the neighbors to dumb their garbage for $5. "
  • Raynelle P.
