Description

In the heart of West Berkeley, just a short hop to 4th Street shops and restaurants, you’ll find a classic yet understated Victorian home that simply oozes charm. This 4-BR, 2-BA residence is ideally located and beautifully maintained. Imagine timeless architecture, exquisite oak floors, and high ceilings in the main home. A detached ADU with vaulted ceilings and a full bathroom renders the property that much sweeter, whether used as a guest suite, home office, or possibly for AirBnB! The delightful backyard garden is an oasis connecting the two; the space is bathed in sunlight, making it the perfect setting for outdoor relaxation or gardening. An enormous full basement on the lower level provides ample storage and offers endless potential for customization. Art studio? Wine cellar? This Victorian features dual-pane windows, top of the line appliances and fixtures(Wolf, Gaggenau, Hansgrohe, Fisher & Paykel, and more!) and a remodeled bathroom featuring a soaking Duravit bathtub. Built-in cabinets, a brick living room fireplace, and an outside deck overlooking a spacious backyard add to the allure of this gem. If you’ve been dreaming of West Berkeley and waiting for a home to entice you with its charm, now’s your opportunity to jump in! This place is a keeper!

"they would love to take their pets to the park in the area. they may not like the parking availability at certain times throughout the day. "
  • Trulia User
"There are a lot of dog walkers around during the day time, but the street lighting isn’t consistent. Also, nearby parks do not feel very safe before sunrise or after sunset. There are frequent assaults reported in the area. I make a point to only walk my dog during the day and without headphones in, so that I can be aware of my surroundings. "
  • Trulia User
"The neighbors in general are great, the gardens - well kept, there are tons of stores and things to do. "
  • Hector R.
"Berkeley is a great city to live in. Beautiful views of the bay, restaurants and shopping are close by. Sidewalks and roads need major improvement."
  • Alondratrevino
"Very easy commute to San Francisco. Transbay bus is 5 mins walking and Bart is 20 mins walking or 5 mins driving."
  • Sue H.
"Walk to work or bart and walk. Easy to get around via public transportation (bus and BART) or walk. "
  • Alondratrevino
"Awesome shops restaurants and quality coffee shops a couple blocks away. The chamber of commerce also throws many cool festivals throughout the year. Love this area!!"
  • Alondratrevino
"Neighbors with dogs walk with them all the time and are respectful of public spaces. Also, most dogs are well educated and don't bark was much."
  • Wendellsouzadesign

  • Nylahhunter
"It’s beautiful there’s lots of places to work and very clean. Very quiet and nice neighbors. Very nice!"
  • Nylahhunter
"Lots of places to walk! Very clean and friendly community with hundreds of businesses to explore in the area!"
  • Bgates
"I've lived in this neighborhood for thirty years and I love it. We are very close friends with our immediate neighbors and friends with many others. We enjoy the walks, restaurants, cafes, the library and grocery stores—all in easy walking distance. Public transportation is easily available, a few minutes walk. This is a great neighborhood to have a dog and to raise children."
  • Sue H.
"The Bart is a short walk which makes getting around convenient- particularly to the Cal Campus from the Downtown Berkeley BART station."
  • Sue H.
"Typical town stuff- fall festival, harvest festival, farmers markets are nice and most things are walkable. Typical problems with any urban area."
  • slwhite_510
"I have lived in the area for over 10 years. There are so many restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, grocery stores, etc within walking distance or within a five minute drive. North Berkeley Bart is within a 7 minute walk; SF express bus lines on Gilman and San Pablo. Amtrak (in Emeryville) is within a 7-10 min drive. The area is bike friendly. It’s single and family area. Lots to do!"
  • Shane H.
"This neighborhood keeps getting better! Phillz coffee, Acme Bread, 4th Street Shopping, etc. We love starting our family here."
  • kimsyer
"I have lived in this neighborhood for close to three years now. I spend a lot of time on the street walking my dog and walking with my child and feel very much 'at home' here. I've met lovely people and feel the location is one of the best in Berkeley. Others in the area feel the same way. "
  • jrout1
"Having lived at different locations in Berkeley for the past 15 years, currently in North West Berkeley, this neighborhood is one of the nicer places in town. A stone-throw from the freeway, a short walk to Bart, quiet, friendly neighbors."
