Phillips ave is a wonderful school led by an amazing principal Mrs Rogers. She goes above and beyond to make sure each student gets a great education in a caring environment! Test scores are misleading given there is a high % of non-english speaking students. My daughter has been at Phillips for preschool, kindergarten and now 1st grade. She is proficient in basic math skills and reading entire books in both english and spanish. I grew up in a very wealthy school district and Phillips is just as good if not better! I couldn't be happier!!

This is a school with ZERO discipline, the kids are allowed to run the asylum and often times bullying, foul language in classrooms, and poor behavior goes unpunished but not unnoticed.

Castigates and victim-blames peer abuse targets, causes peer abuse targets further ostracization and mistreatment by deciding that the problem is objects used as tools in physical attacks rather than the actual abusers.

I don't feel safe when I come here everyday. Their ID system to protect the school doesn't nothing, you get suspended if you don't bring this piece of plastic E-waste to their school every day. The entire school is dirty and filled with garbage, unclean toilets, and in every bathroom, only one sink works. The staff give the same punishment to kids who beat up other kids to kids who don't bring their ID cards to school. The security are useless as all they do is stand around the school looking at their phones. They put security in the bathrooms doorways in the morning and kids still get away with doing drugs in the bathroom, the school district is very poor so we don't get the same opportunities as other schools either.
