More than half the students walk to school, making it feel like a true community. Cordley was completely renovated and expanded in 2015. It is still a tight-knit community of parents and teachers, but now there is a bigger, high-tech facility right in the neighborhood.

"I have lived in East Lawrence for 10 years. People are friendly without being intrusive. I feel like if I really need something one of neighbors will be there for me. Yet this is definitely not a "Come on over for coffee" type area. People work and have their own lives going on. I love it here!!"
