This school is ran like a concentration camp. They have to sit with their classrooms during lunch and can barely socialize with other students. The special needs children absolutely lack a sense of help and encouragement claiming that the special needs classrooms are too full.

like i said in my west hemp review, adults, teachers, etc. are great, always make me feel wanted and accepted. i have never felt any political bias in the teachers... with that said, the student body is not great. been threatened with fights or physical harm for expressing opinions, teased and mocked relentlessly. there is also a noticeable bias in not punishing kids of minorities, at least in my experience, which i assume is to avoid racism accusations. over all, i like the staff, i felt comfortable with my teachers and counselors, but the students... i definitely think there isn't enough done about the rampant ableism and bullying. homophobia and sexism were also present, but in my experience, the ableism was the worst. slurs are way too common place. also, in my first year alone, there was a bombing and shooting threat, and instead of canceling, they had us line up outside the field house like sitting ducks ready to be shot. heard they got metal detectors recently tho. there was also a drug scare.good school if your kid is a white straight boy. anything else, can't recommend.

This school is great for six graders. They have a lot of welcoming activities all throughout the year. 7th graders get to auction with auction dollars they have been rewarded with by good behavior. 7th graders also gets spirit nights. 8th graders get a very fun last year at the school. They get to help the six graders (If they volunteer) they get to run for school president/vice president/secretary/treasurer. West Hempfield middle school has a very good music center and a very big library. They practice for emergency’s regularly and also keep the kids safe. The dances are super fun, they have games, food/drinks, music, Photo Booth, etc. the school district itself is extremely nice and I highly recommend.
