"Great loop to walk dogs, woods and wood path make a nice walk and place for dogs to go the bathroom "
  • Sarah Robinson
"It is historic. There’s a lot of great architecture. There are many outdoor events during the summer and winter we have a lot of students and younger people moving in."
  • Paul W.
"Northern Troy has a high Crime rate of 35 per 1000. It is rundown with boarded up homes & buildings, and a lot of closed businesses. We rented there, and my significant other did not feel safe walking around there. So I would not say it is walkable or bikeable. And I wouldn't want to bring up a family in Troy. Before you rent or buy, walk through the neighborhood. "
  • Christopher Casazza
"It’s a cute little downtown and there are wonderful examples of intact 19th century architecture and nice local businesses and restaurants. It probably just needs to continue to clean up and get some more population. It’s just a little empty when schools are not in session."
  • Bossmikester
"Education is near some of the best schools in the state schools like rennsalesr poly tech , Hudson valley community college, Russell sage etc "
  • ET
"It’s a great neighborhood to visit, and I think it would be a good place to live. Some things in the community need maintenance (some sidewalks are major tripping hazards), but other areas are well maintained. "
  • Imari Wilson
"I see people walking their dog regularly. The neighborhood is walkable and dog friendly. And usually have open spaces available for play. "
  • Marina
"Great schools and neighborhood. Easy walkability and safe for pets and kids. Schools within walking distance. "
  • Debyrae
"Out side music Watching people walk around Have any yard? I feel safe and quiet in. Walkabouts."
  • Mc1588009
"Quiet and nice neighborhood. Definitely no complaints other than morning traffic when school is in session."
  • Taaliyah11
"Lots of dog owners in the area walk their dogs off leash and do not pick after them. Also is also a lot of food littered and dogs can eat, like chicken wings"
  • Trulia User
"Surrounded by trees and brownstones it’s absolutely beautiful ,You get a sense of security along w/ some great architecture views , "
  • Krystle Johnson
"People do not pick up their dogs poop. They also do not walk their dogs in a leash. This is not a community that is dog friendly. "
  • User98
"Big backyards, only blocks away from Downtown Troy "
  • Trulia User
"People take good care of their homes and front yard. The place it’s super quiet and there not a lot of traffic. Very safe place and the park and golf court is to die for."
  • Trulia User
"very great transportation with many different types of shopping stores so you don't have to travel far, pretty much any store you need from groceries to hair products, dollar stores, and fast food all right next to each other in a plaza only by walking 5 to 10 minutes away, from home, if you don't feel like driving you can just walk to any sore you need "
  • Trulia User
"I grew up a few blocks away it's my home town I prefer my kids to be down in this area than on the opposite side of town "
  • Trulia User
"nice neighborhood, very friendly people. very quiet, no problems at all. nearby college and walking distance from restaurants, shopping stores, groceries, etc. You do not need transportation to much being that everything's a walking distance away, so not far at all"
  • Trulia User
"This apartment is not good at all so many mice holes the price used to be 1999 but they put it down because they’re desperate for someone to move in don’t get trapped. "
  • Trulia User
"Side street sidewalks are safe and friendly with plenty of grass space. Frear park is great for dogs in the winter but unfriendly in the warmer months, though there are trails if you’re up for a steep and damp adventure "
  • Trulia User
"The public elementary schools are very good with caring teachers. The area is within walking distance to Peebles Island State Park. With the ice rink, walking/running track, tennis courts, Powers Park with summer concerts, library and Lansingbugh Historical Society, it is a convenient and accessible friendly village. It’s on the upswing. After 18 years here, I’ve seen progress and enjoy being part of the solution."
  • Kai D
"All parks are dog friendly, most restaurants are dog friendly, and you alwayss see people walking their dogs and cats outside!"
  • Trulia User
"The area is very nice and quiet but can be windy because of the tight streets. The people keep to their self "
  • Trulia User
"Easy traffic, well maintained roads. Close to highways for longer distance travel, close to markets, malls an historic sites"
  • Wendy M.
"parades, school events, going to get ice cream at Snowman. there are many others like chowder tasting, turkey trot at Thanksgiving."
  • Alicia B.
"I regularly hit a few lights on my way out of town, but there’s never too much congestion. Parking can be spotty, however."
  • Jennifer L.
"I live off of Hoosick St., which is usually slow, but I leave early enough that it usually only takes 20-25 minutes to get to Albany. I take back roads to get home. It takes a little longer, but it's a scenic route. "
  • Karen.talbot
"Easy access to main roads and highways with minimal commute time to neighboring cities. Roads are well maintained including wintertime."
  • Krystle J.
"Small tight nit community. Kids have become an issue with not obeying bicycle laws but other than that it’s a great community to live in"
  • Kguba7
"I take the back roads - it’s very scenic and does not take me any longer than 20 minutes to get to work!"
  • Jenn M.
"New to the area but love it. Walking in the park is so peaceful and easy. The lakes add such charm and beauty, also have never felt unsafe "
  • Loudlucy13
"A lot of the places that they listed in close proximity to this are closed forever/out of business. The downtown area is not the safest. I would NEVER walk down there at night. Dangerous!"
  • Trulia User
"Great neighborhood. Many conveniences. Easy walk to downtown attractions. Recently restored half-mile Garnet Douglass Baltimore walking nature trail to Prospect Park. Home to the historic Gasholder House Building and Public Market Open Area. "
  • Lisa T.
"The people look out for each other and I find it very quiet I feel safe enough for me and my children to be out in the park"
  • Meghanwilder2
"It’s a nice area and a pretty easy commute to everything. The schools are nice and the parks are pretty big and also pet friendly. "
  • Trish.roddy4
"As long as you stay to yourself it’s safe not very friendly unless you know someone personally or you know their family and friends."
  • Amymae82
"Best park for summer fun if you can’t make it to the pool. The streets are always clean of litter. The school is small and it’s for a kids kindergarten through senior year. "
  • Afchick9287
"Watch children at all times...even though I generally feel safe during the day, I never go out at night by myself"
  • Mary T.
"We have neighborhood get togethers in the spring and summer. Everyone is invited to join. In the fall and winter we have events for the children. "
  • Cerone S.
"Family get togethers family events block parties everything that you would hope for plus the people are very friendly and supportive "
