Four of my children have graduated from Southand. Each one of them had a great experience with their teachers who we find to be warm, personable and caring. They were interested in seeing my children succeed. The teachers were available to give personal hands on assistance if the student asked. My kids also appreciated that many of them also taught life skills. If something big/tragic happened locally or nationally, they discussed the issues in class. Kids were able to ask questions and express their feelings. The kids verbalized that they felt safe in the school which we really appreciated. All of my children went on to college. They felt very prepared and competitive. The community is friendly but there are a lot of relatives so it can be a little more challenging to get to know people. I would highly recommend this school.

The technology that they use to help their students learn truly helps to prepare them for life after school. The staff is caring and the small class sizes allow the teachers more opportunity to allow those who are ready to run be able to do that and give added assistance to those that need a little more encouragement.
