Hello, 7th grader here. I've been attending this school since I was in 1st grade and up and until now things have changed rapidly. For starters, this school does absolutely nothing about bullying. If your child is being bullied or harassed nothing will happen until someone actually “catches them” in the act. Second, racism is highly normalized. This school has majority of children who are of African American race which leads to kids often treating others who are not of that ethnicity differently. Calling one another racial slurs, making jokes about culture, making offensive gestures, ect. Colorism is also a thing at this school. Teachers and students will treat each other a certain way depending on their skin complexion. If they're dark skinned, they'll get called all sorts of names. But if the child is lighter in skin, they get treated like angels. Teachers are also very VERY degrading — telling students they'll get no where in life, calling them lazy, criticizing their work and so much more. If you're thinking about sending your child here, please don't. I'll be going to 8th grade this year and things most likely will remain the same.
