I would definitely say a 10 because if the staff. The staff works diligently and efficiently! However, a lot more support from DOE and the community leaders would be a great deal! The school needs more funding for afterschool programs and equipment for not just the students but the staff as well! I really put my trust into the Teachers, School Safety Agents and other Staff members from 0820 to 1420 Monday thru Friday and I can honestly say I have yet to have been let down! I however would like to see more from the Community Leaders and DOE!

The councilors are great, and the teachers do free tutoring after school on Wednesday if you apply, most of the teachers this year are cool, ms urena is a great listener when you need her.

BCHS strives for a welcoming and safe environment for everyone. The students feel comfortable and safe. The bullying that happens is minimal because it is addressed and reported the moment it happens when it is caught. The class sizes are small compared to other schools, which facilitates the learning process for all students. Classes have a mix of high functioning students that are challenged academically as well as students who are behind in their learning and are caught up at a reasonable pace. We have a well versed staff and provide students with after school work programs as well as in school mental / socio-emotional services. Teachers and staff are in constant contact with families.Admin, namely, Llermi and Tutti have challenged me as a teacher in ways that has helped me grow. I may not agree with everything that they say but their constructive criticism has been respectful for me and has helped me improve as a teacher. They welcome teacher feedback so they can grow as well. I have noticed a positive change in their growth as leaders over the years that I've taught here as often self-reflective people do. We have a diverse population of students. We also have a growing population of English Language Learners (Spanish speaking). All students enjoy the clubs and monthly celebrations we have which help foster community. I welcome any student that is serious about learning, parents who are engaged and communicate with staff, and any teacher that wishes to leave a lasting impact with a strong community of teacher and staff.
