7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI love this school. The teachers, as well as the faculty and principal, care so much about their students, and it shows. If a student is struggling, the teachers always go above and beyond to make sure they don't fall behind the rest of the class. They're kind, and they teach kindness. Academically, the curriculum is challenging and interactive. It's a small school, which I find wonderful because the staff know each student by name, even if they don't teach that particular child. The kids are safe and taken care of.Parent Review12y ago3 Reviews - Abington Heights High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son went to AHHS. He was enrolled in the honors program there for three years. He has acute ADHD. He had an IEP. The coursework was challenging. The special ed department was responsive. The vast majority of teachers were excellent. He came out of it with a 3.75 GPA, a scholarship award and got into 8 of the 11 colleges he applied to. I can't say what experience you or your child would have or has had in the other levels of courses there, just what I know based on a special needs kid in the honors program. But I think it is fair to say that this is a good high school at any level of teaching.I do believe high school's administration is excellent, and its teachers are capable, and the staff courteous. This was demonstrated in 10th, 11th and 12th grades. 9th grade we kept our son virtual because a vaccine wasn't yet available for his age group. He got bullied in the lower grades and that carried into high school. So his extracurricular participation was outside of the school and I can't comment on that aspect of the high school experience. But bullying can happen anywhere, or everywhere. There were just a couple teachers in the four years my son attended Abington Heights High School who were difficult, in relation to the IEP. But we stayed on top of that and the special ed department was always responsive to our interests and concerns. My son has started college and so I have a new perspective on his high school years. I am certain there are few better high schools and many poorer ones.Parent Review1y ago4 Reviews - Abington Heights Middle School

"I’m from the area just moved to a place In Scranton 2-3 years ago. It is affordable and has lots of surrounding nature aspects. Some parts can be a little sketchy, but over Scranton is nice. There’s lots of parks, many events, farmers markets, shops, restaurants, many good colleges, and skiing, and a small waterpark. "

"Lots of friendly dogs being walked, and unfriendly ones stuck in their houses or yards. It is rare that I have seen messes made by dogs in the grass. "
