"Quite safe, parks are amazing, lots of dogs too! The local library is a great resource and Liberty State Park is a gem."
  • Swzjps52tr
"It’s nothing special here no jobs, rents are to high for just 1 family. A lot of kids getting into fights in schools we don’t get educated well enough how it should be."
  • Trulia User
"respect towards the neighbors, that there is cleanliness, and above all camaraderie. And one very important thing is that public transport is close, that there are pharmacies, supermarkets and, above all, security throughout the area."
  • Trulia User
"Foundation of Salvation Church holds an event called Nations Day. it's a festival to celebrate all people, cultures and food. Also, the church host thanksgiving and Christmas events to help the community."
  • Resident
"I live in the neighborhood and it has great access to transportation. Liberty State Park and the Science Center is steps away. There are several other parks and a community pool to cool off in the summer. Local parks have summer programs like movies, live music, etc. We have lived here for over 5 years and never had a package stolen or witnessed any crime. It is very safe at night. Many people walk their dogs in the evening and they do clean up after them. There is lots of new construction that will increase everyone's property values. The city is also updating all the sewers to help mitigate street flooding and replacing waterlines. "
  • Resident
"I've lived in Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood for 5 years. I have never had a package stolen and feel safe walking at night. Neighbors are friendly. There is always parking available on the street. Many beautiful parks for kids and also many cultural activities especially in the summer. Lots of new construction is great for our property values and new young professionals make for a great environment. Many amazing shops and restaurants nearby. Walking distance to Liberty State Park, Light Rail, Jersey Medical Center and supermarket. The city has also been modernizing the sewer system by separating the storm sewer from the sanitary sewer and increasing capacity."
  • Trulia User
"Downtown JC is great not only for its proximity to NYC but because it has its own individual flavor.Like Hoboken, It is becoming overcrowded and overpriced however. "
  • Trulia User

  • Trulia User
"I’vr lived here for almost a year and it’s a great neighborhood with friendly neighbors that always say hello. "
  • Trulia User
