About this House
This property sits on a 4+- acre lot and is being sold with 2 additional adjoining lots. One of which is waterfront and the 2 of them combined add 3 +- acres for a total of nearly 8 acres. All of the acreage is groomed. This home sits on the Willapa River and features a 1 +- acre deep man made lake that holds rainbow trout and other native species. The lake has continuous water flow from a nearby stream and is swimmable in the summer. It is 13-15 feet at it’s deepest.
The main house is about 2800 sq. ft and has an open design. Tall pitched ceilings are accentuated by a beautiful craftsman plaster texture and wood beams. The home was built in 1980 by a gentleman who owned a logging business. He had nearly all of the wood in the house specially milled. There is a lot of rough cedar in the house with a brick wall behind the wood stove. The floors are mostly slate rock and carpet. The family room looks out on a landscaped yard and the river. Two large cedar decks, one on the main level and the second on the upper level look out on the lake and landscape. There are 2 "kid" bedrooms and a master bedroom in the main house.
There is a central vacuuming system and a geothermal heat pump that loops through the lake for it's heat exchange. The kitchen features and 11 foot by 4 foot central island with Thomasville cabinetry and a quartz countertop. The surrounding cabinetry is custom built of oak. The kitchen is built to accommodate a 60" range. (The French Range in the house was built for us in Paris by Lachanche. and is for sale as an add-on for $12,000.) The pantry room has cupboards, cabinets and shelves and is also where the washer and dryer are located. The third floor loft has large picture windows overlooking the landscape and lake. It also has a wet bar with cupboards and cabinets, a space for a refrigerator and ice maker.. From the loft you can step out onto the upper deck that also overlooks grounds and lake. This deck features clear acrylic panels for a better view. There is a speaker system that runs through the entire house and to the back patio.
The guest house is attached to the main house by a 3 car carport. It features a small master bedroom and bath. It also has a kitchen and living room. It also features a tall pitched ceiling and has a massive solid beam running the length of the house. This property has mature landscaping and perpetual water rights for the lake. It is from the lake that the 12 station sprinkler system draws it water and the turf and foliage love it.
This home sits in a somewhat prestigious neighborhood with some newly constructed homes nearby. It is a very quiet property in the country. There is a small general store within 2 miles and the closest town is 10 miles.
For the outdoors types, of course there is trout in the lake. There are salmon and winter run steelhead in the river. 10 miles to the west is Willapa Bay and 15 miles further are the beaches where you can find great fishing, clamming and crabbing and all that goes along with the coastal area.
This home and property is a paradise for the right people. Come and have a look.
This package offers a beautiful "neck of the woods" to a family or would be an amazing summer home for the city dweller who wants an escape.
