NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy children love their school and friends. Although lately, I've noticed there is only one person at the front office and sometimes there are two teachers but rarely now. I also noticed my children one time coming home saying they have a contest in school to fill a jar with coins and the class having the most coins filled will win ... odd ... I feel that the school is conserving soo much of their funds and making it difficult for other teachers. They also have a new program for younger children where parents can enroll their children for a few hours everyday and pay 300 a month. Even daycare centers having good curriculum is less expensive than what the school offers and it is a full day. I don't get what is happening internally but I for sure do not like what I am seeing.Parent Review10y ago10 Reviews - Big Hollow Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is an absolute joke. The admin doesn’t know what they are doing, the teachers are unsupported and under engaged, and the special education department is infuriatingly insufficient. We hate it here and for how expensive property taxes in our area are, I would hope for our kids to get a much better education.Parent Review11mo ago19 Reviews - Big Hollow Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe absolutely love Big Hollow! This is my 6th year as a BH parent, and every year my kids have had amazing teachers who truly care about them. The teachers and staff are like family, and the community itself is just so friendly and welcoming. The teachers and admins emphasize character education. The superintendent is very involved, you see him at most events. It’s a wonderful school!Parent Review7y ago5 Reviews - Grant Community High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI just graduated from grant this past spring, I attended Grant all 4 years, I was apart of 3 different sports (ending as a 12 sport athelete with a weight 4.2 GPA), and a few clubs. As a student I took a total of 4 AP classes with almost all of the rest being an honors class. I see and understand what other reviews mean of certain disrespectful teachers or staff, but from my experience and my friends experiences, a LARGE portion of teachers at Grant genuinely care for their students, some just have their own ways on encouraging. Most of those unique teachers aren't as well liked, but honestly they were always my favorite because i felt the most comfortable when I felt like i could kinda be jokingly rude to them or make jokes about them with out being genuinely disrespectful. I enjoyed and had a positive experience from just about every class, teacher, coach, and staff member I ever interacted with. Just about every teacher I had cared about me, my grades, and my wellbeing, along with the rest of their students. The teachers at Grant, from what I had experienced, care about your student, and will try to help, encourage, and challenge your child. Grant is a pretty decent school (I just wish we had open lunch, but tbh the food isn't horrible). As a parent tho, try to help your child get involved in extracurriculars, any club or sport, just something to get them to find like minded people with positive goals, a d try to encourage them to study outside of school.Student Review2mo ago13 Reviews - Check out schools near 1663 W Turtle Crk #1.

"You can’t get anywhere without going onto Route 120, which is generally backed up with traffic. Once you get past the 134 and Hainesville Rd. Intersections, it gets better."

"I love my neighborhood I'm originally from Chicago and moved here for 15 years ago, I am planning on moving but only about 15 minutes away. my husband and I have decided to stay in the area we love it so much the ice cream truck still comes around, and Halloween the parents still take the children around and dress-up themselves. I have very nice Neighbors and talked to several different families around I will miss this area but like I said not moving far. they take good care of the streets lawns in the neighborhood. love living in Round Lake"

"The way this town is unique is due to the way people live and get along with neighbors, the fact that there are forest preserves where people can relax and do exercise and the friendliness to everyone "
