This school lost my 6 year old daughter twice. She was able to run out of the building by herself into the community where she has no capabilities to keep herself safe.She has autism and was in the special ed program for a year before it relocated to Troutdale for 2022/2023 school year. She is nonverbal. She has no safety awareness and runs into oncoming traffic if not supervised. She could have been seriously hurt or killed.The school staff and district have been tactical and deceitful throughout this entire process.The staff stands behind arbitrary policy and are more concerned about protecting itself from potential litigation and accountability then the safety and well being of the children. Especially the children with disabilities. My daughter has not been able to attend school this year because of Troutdale elementary, Reynolds school district and the social communications special ed program and staff. All who could not guarantee my daughter would make it home at the end of the day. A first grader at Troutdale elementary school has been left behind. Pushed under the rug. And forgotten. The system has failed her. But I continue to fight for our basic rights.I don't wish this on any parent or child.
