Neighborhood Description

This is an extremely quiet neighborhood with a lot of room between homes and larger yards. There is a mix of older families who have lived here a long time and young families with children. The house next door to this one was once owned by J.C. Penny's niece. In fact, she owned the entire subdivision prior to 1961 and before she subdivided it into housing lots she leased all of this land to Ohio State University for farming. When my family moved here in 1963, her house and our house were the only two on this side of the street. Smaller lots and smaller homes were already built on the other side of Canterbury, but most of the large homes were built later.
