About this House

Like many Richmond Annex homes, ours is a small home on a huge lot. The house sits on the middle parcel and is flanked by two additional parcels which provide a buffer zone, privacy and opportunities to garden.

Neighborhood Description

The Richmond Annex is more like El Cerrito and Albany than Richmond proper. The Annex is a collection of closely knit neighborhoods and has a strong and active Richmond Annex Neighborhood Association. In my Richmond Annex neighborhood I know everyone on my block. We watch out for one another and keep an eye on each others properties. We also socialize with one another, garden together and share meals.
The neighborhood is close to the shoreline so there is easy access to the Bay Trail for bicycling, kayaking, windsurfing, bird watching and Point Isabel Dog Park.
The El Cerrito Plaza BART station is within walking distance and AC Transit busses are a couple of blocks away on San Pablo Avenue. So are Tashi Delek Tibetan Restaurant, Little Hill Lounge, El Cerrito Natural Grocery, Downhome Music, the Cerrito Theater, Pastime Hardware and Mod Lang Records to name only a few of the great local businesses within walking distance.
The Richmond Annex is an exceptional neighborhood.
1645 Butte St, Richmond, CA 94804 is a 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 878 sqft single-family home in Richmond Annex, built in 1930. It is currently off market. The Trulia Estimate is $719,200, with a rent estimate of $3,103/month.

"I’ve lived here for 37 years. Seem AOK to me. But I never forget I live in Richmond. We have some good neighborhood people who look out for each other."
  • Trulia User
"It's quiet where i live. My commute is great! Nice neighborhood. I keep to myself so i can't give any details other than it's a peaceful little area on Bayview."
  • Trulia User
"Neighbors know and keep an eye out for each other. Kids walk to school on their own. Lots of urban veggie gardens. "
  • Trulia User
"Lots of dogs. In general people pick up after their animals. Some times a British Shorthair is walked on a leash in the neighborhood."
  • Colin.fahrion
"Farmers market is the main one especially the fishmonger. And the off the Grid food trucks on a Wednesday are great"
  • Melissa
"Close to everything, safe, easy freeway access, diverse community, great dining shopping, farmer's markets, parks, biking lanes, it's great! "

"Lots of places to walk your dogs closest neighborhood to point Isabel which is just the other side of Costco. "
  • Michelle M.
"Buses run regularly on San Pablo Ave, and El Cerrito is about two blocks way. I grew up in the Anex and loved the Area."
  • Fairysmacker
"Plenty of dogs in the area, many respect others in picking up after themselves, and there's a dog park right on the beach."
  • Fairysmacker
"Walking 15 minutes to Bart or driving down, then I travel to wherever I need to get to via Bart or Muni. "
  • Rffkhalil
"Tight knit community. Lots of beautiful tiny bungalows. Unique and interesting community. People care for their homes. “Hippie” streak. Close to Solano Ave & Berkeley dining scenes. Lots of great food. Close to Bart. Incredibly walkable. Great place to live."
  • Manuel V.
"Lived around here for my entire life and never had any problems, the area around here is great because of the so many local stores around and shops not that far. Richmond has always been a good station for going everywhere else in the bay from SF to concord and Oakland and more, those places aren’t to far of a drive "
  • Helene B.
"The Richmond Annex is a wonderful place to live. There is a mix of ages and nationalities. You can walk to grocery shopping, post office, drug store, dry cleaning and restaurants. The neighborhood is very friendly and neighbors look out for each other. Our block has a block party each year. Many of the streets in the Annex have views of the Bay. There is no trouble parking in front of your house like some areas of Berkeley and Oakland, but it still has that Alameda County vibe."
