5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOverall, a wonderful experience. My two daughters go here and it's been wonderful. My oldest loves school but gets bullied because she is so eager to learn and achieve (she gets competitive and becomes a go getter, not to rub others faces in it but because she feels happy when she succeeds), but teachers support her and try to give her techniques to deal with it or strategies. My youngest is a social butterfly, gets along with everyone but struggles to learn when it doesn't interest her. Her teacher kept me updated, worked with me to find ways to help her catch up when she was falling behind in class (barely grasping her abc's). When something happened with our family that caused my oldest to have an anxiety attack in school (youngest hadn't started school yet), they stepped up to help her. They didn't shame her, make her a public spectacle, or shame her - in fact the principle took her to her office privately, spoke with her and played games with her until she calmed down and was feeling well enough to return to class, notifying me as soon as she was calmed down (which was in the best interest of her, instead of amplifying things and possibly making them worse). It isn't a perfect school, but it's not a perfect world. But what they do is amazing. I see so many kind and wonderful children at this school, directly due to the wonderful staff there.Parent Review6y ago3 Reviews - Roosevelt High School

"Wyandotte is an amazing mix of small-town charm, affordability, and possibly waterfront living. The city is known for festivals, art fairs, monthly theme events downtown and seasonal holiday events, which help create a friendly, connected community. Downtown Wyandotte has got some top-tier dining experiences and a million fun options for eclectic ‘lil taverns. The Mom & Pop business’ prevail over chains and provide the uncommon experience that we all long for. Old & new architecture mix, provide a charm rarely experienced anywhere else. To boot, conveniences abound. I reside within blocks to everything that I could ever need: gas, multiple options for affordable groceries and general supplies, several deli’s, esteemed salons, the State’s best liqueur store. Except for a T.J. Maxx, I have to drive almost 2 miles for a that, but Downtown does have several great clothing boutiques ($$). 10/10 Highly Recommend."

"Lots of parks and family things to do. Schools aren't the best but decent. Most neighborhoods are quiet. Yards are small and taxes higher. "

"A good thing for dog owners to know is that dogs are not allowed in any park except for the dog park, which you have to pay for. You buy a yearly pass at city hall. "

"Quick and relatively easy access to main roads. Further from highway but still a decent commute. Close to Detroit and very close to other Downriver communities. Most people use cars but buses are available. "
