My daughter is in K. First, the bus system is terrible. They lost my 5 yr old twice and then blamed her. Her teacher only cares about all the students being sheep and learning to conform to her teaching rather than trying to reach the students in how they learn. She has no desire to motivate the students and no idea how to redirect the lively ones. After complaining to the teacher, the counselor and the asst principle I can still get nothing done to help my daughter. The asst principle dropped the ball, got called on it and passed it off to the counselor who also dropped the ball and did nothing. So even though I started trying to get something done in Nov, mid April we've still got nothing in place to help my kid. They could care less.

My experience has been that all sub populations are valued and the primary concern is to teach and graduate literate students. Community is key.

This is a small town school with huge inner-city school problems. There is a very big problem with bullying and the district's approach to their issues is blanket punishment. My honor roll and national honor society students often came home from school in tears over punishments they were dealt because of their peers. There is a big communication problem with administration and parents when it comes to students. There has been more than one occasion when the school has had parents sign letters requesting parents to pick up students after extracurricular activities and field trips to not find their children on campus because they were sent home on a bus without notification. Staff does not respond to letters and emails and do not intervene when students are having issues with peers until it gets too far and all students are punished. Uniform dress code is strictly enforced inconsistent and very confusing from campus to campus.

Wonderful school. The teachers and administrators seem to really look out for the best interest of the students.
