My experience overall is good. I am grateful for Shelby elementary school and the things the teachers are teaching my children. I feel it is a safe place for my children, but like anything it could be better. These are my opinions:We could have social studies books that my 5th grader could take home. We could have less homework. We could emphasize the English reading coursework and reduce the AR reading emphasis.

If we had any other options we would not be on our 5th school year with students enrolled in the Shelby Public School District. The unethical, greedy administration gives himself a 3% raise every year despite horrible test scores that have been going down for the last decade or more and have never had a gain and failing to provide constitutionally guaranteed resources to every student in the district. They will attempt to block your right to free speech you're right to know and your rights as a parent if it suits the administration.
