5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy 3 children went there and the school really dropped in caliber of academic rigor with the former principal and now the current principal is trying to clean up the mess left behind. Unfortunately the children’s writing skills are subpar because they do not require writing, they do not concentrate on science and there is minimal reading comprehension encouragement. There has been an influx of enl students which is fine but they do not have the resources to develop readers. These children also do not know cursive, how to address an envelope or write a proper paper.Parent Review7mo ago6 Reviews - Valley Stream North High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNorth High School is a bustling school that hosts a vast number of students. Many are pushed to be high achievers, and their AP/accelerated classes pose a challenge for smarter students. The school is slightly overpopulated with a large number of students belonging to the (enl) program. But overall is a good school for students out of the 3 other schools present in the district. All teachers are dedicated and trustworthy. Overall, a good school with some slight flaws regarding cleanliness and overall organization.Student Review9mo ago8 Reviews - Check out schools near 16 Parkwold Dr E.

"What makes my neighborhood unique is the strong sense of community and diversity. Every weekend, neighbors gather at the local park for a small farmers’ market and community potluck—it really brings people together. I love how everyone knows each other by name, and there’s always someone willing to lend a hand."

"You need a car or need to live very close to main boulevards/roads. Otherwise you’re stuck walking 20 minutes to take public transportation. Not for the faint of heart or every day commuters. "

"Lived in Valley Stream for a majority of my life. The public school system is one of the best in the south shore. East access to Manhattan with two LIRR lines going through the town and occasionally the Babylon line as well. Hendrickson Park is the “private” park for residents of the village. A nice place to go for a walk with your family. The town holds a huge Fourth of July party at one of the fields. Firework show can be seen from blocks away. Overall good place to raise a family. Every town has its quirks; however, VS favors overs the rest. "
