About this House

his beautiful historic home is located on east Main Street, just steps away from the center of town. The fa??ade is a revision of a Gothic style home and is on almost 0.9 acres and is carried through the exterior of the home. The home was originally built in 1873 for the Stokes Family. In 2016 the homeowners had numerous upgrades including an expansion of 5 ft. in width in the home of the kitchen and laundry room area. New window on second and third floors, new roof sections and gutters replaced. Central air condition new heat units have also been added to the Main home and the Carriage home which includes the Gym first floor and the BAR Man Cave??? on the second level. The Main Home, Carriage House and pool area contains 13 rooms, including 6 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms throughout the entire property ?? pool area and carriage home included property. Plus a wine cellar (temperature controlled and another complete finished basement with TV ?? small kitchen and computer workstations.A formal dining and living room with 12 ft. ceilings add a beautiful experience in each of these rooms. These 12 ft. ceilings continue on the second floorThe kitchen and family room both contain wide planked heated flooring, plus a wood-burning fireplace.Continuing with the kitchen there are two areas for the kitchen. A complete area off the kitchen with storage and various prep works for meals and event serving. This area has a complete sink, plus two of the three kitchen dishwashers are located here.A beautiful touch is that on one side is a custom built wooden butcher block the entire length of the countertop. This area ends with entry to the laundry room and includes counter space for folding and a sink.In the main kitchen area the countertop is centered with the LeCornue 54??? stove oven one side and seating on the other side of the countertop for 5 or 6 people.Behind the seating area lies the Sub Zero 42 Cubic Ft of refrigerator and freezer. The third dishwasher lies under the countertop on the stove side in the main part of the kitchen. Also in the room is a built-in wine refrigerator and across for that counter is another small counter containing the ice-maker.There are many multiple cabinets along with the end cap cabinets on both sides of the Sub Zero units. Within this entire kitchen area there is storage for fine dining down to breakfast cereal bowls, dishes, utensils etc. This truly is the main ???hub of this home. Yet, just steps away, thru the French double doors to the exterior courtyard, is the outside built in Barbecue area with storage built in cabinets and a beautiful sitting area for outdoors dining.Back into the main home on the second and third floors are the bedrooms and bathrooms. It is very unusual in a home built in this time to have built in closets in the bedrooms, but almost every bedroom has these closets. There are five bedrooms on this floor ?? each with plenty of room and space. The bathrooms have all been renovated from 2016 and are in excellent condition throughout this home. The third floor is the complete master bedroom suite, including en-suite bathroom and dressing area. The master suite has every need for his and hers clothing, including a complete dressing and make up in the dressing area The bedroom is nicely spaced and include custom built-in clothing dressers the length of the master bedroom, plus two closets for clothing. The bathroom is completely redone with a beautiful soaking tube, double sink vanity and a large combination steam shower. One floor, below the kitchen and family room areas, is a separate finished basement for young adults and children with lounging, plus workstations for computer usage. Also located at this level is a wine room that is temperature controlled.Note ?? Windows in the main home have all been replaced, except for the historic first floor ...special blown glass windows on the front of this home. Again this renovation was completed in 2016.

  • Trulia User
"This area is great for kids, there’s parks in every part of the neighborhood. I’m closer to downtown so there’s a lot more for my son to do as well, the only thing I wish they had is more “child play” groups or programs in the area."

"Great place to walk your dog and other neighbors with dogs are friendly. Not enough dog parks in the area."
