Description

Sunny and unique 3/2 "loft" style partially furnished home with sustainable living in mind for 6-10 months! - Come home to this custom and partially furnished loft-style Berkeley home intelligently designed to maximize the usability of its open spaces. This unique, 2nd floor, 1 level space has 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The house incorporates the key elements of open space design, and brings in amazing air flow. The home gets tons of natural sunlight almost all day. The home is on the upper level of this building with a large garage below with ample space for both car parking and storage. Enter on the side of the home through a secure gate on to a custom steel and aluminum staircase leading to the massive stainless steel front door. Enter in to the open living room with gleaming bamboo floors that extend throughout the entire home. There are 2 bedrooms off of the living room that share a custom bathroom. The bathroom is designed like a spa and has a rare 6'2" claw foot bathtub elevated on reclaimed old growth redwood from Sonoma red wine casks. The tub has an amazing antique faucet and hand shower (found at the local favorite, The Sink Factory) and specially chosen decor completes the room. There's a large custom built in linen cabinet which uses reclaimed windows! You have to see it! The master bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom - just completely redone, and light and airy! The spacious open kitchen has custom counter tops, a huge kidney shaped island, 2 skylights, and a custom 4'4" sliding glass door leading out to a huge, sunny deck on which you'll find a cozy outdoor sectional and a small table and chairs as well. The east facing deck has another small outdoor love seat and another set table and chairs for morning coffee! There's a 3rd deck at the hot tub level, which has another small outdoor love seat which is surrounded by trumpet flowers. The kitchen is designed to enjoy the indoor/outdoor space year round. Stainless steel appliances include a commercially inspired gas stove, large hood, dishwasher and new french door style refrigerator. The home is both accessible and durable, think artsy firehouse. This eclectic and modern space is packed with loads of custom steel fabrication that flows effortlessly into the bounty filled garden. Many pieces of the owners art collection remain on the walls including notable art by several well known CA artists. There's a new washer in the garage and a gas dryer (stacked). The home has approximately 400 sf of deck space on two elevated levels. Once you step off the back stairs you enter the enormous garden (see partial list of plants below) with an amazing canopy of fruiting and flowering trees. The pathway from the stairs to the driveway is through a botanical archway. A small and lovely hot tub is integrated into lower deck space and is surrounded by the garden.
