3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageComing from a current student I would say that this school is average. The school itself is very dirty in some areas unfortunately due to messy students and janitors not cleaning up after them. The school air is horrible, vents and fans in the building haven’t been cleaned it years so the air is very dirty. School events are actually fun and enjoyable, school lunch is average. I wish funding was put towards things we actually need! The school lunch that’s funded to us is so poor quality. It’s like they meet the requirements by the government and it’s the bare minimum. Food does not fill you up at all, now further more about education I think it’s very good. You are offered some advanced courses which is amazing for the people who are at that level. In a nutshell I believe if the school had better access to higher quality food, cleaner environment students would be performing better academically. Like let’s be real taking an SOL and being only offered a nutri-grain bar is not going to make you perform high on a test. Teachers are people to, so not every teacher will be nice or caring but it is what it is. For anyone already at the school or coming to the school I wish you luck and success in your future!Student Review1y ago12 Reviews - Dinwiddie Senior High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDinwiddie High is a very nice school located in a small community. The schools not very dirty. I really hope someone sees this review because I would like the school announcements in the mornings to be more interactive!! We as students need something more than just someone repeatedly telling us to be excellent. I hope the announcements have an “opening theme” like some happy upbeat song (I believe this would make learning fun and make us more mentally stable) or something because it really feels like I’m being held in a prison when all we hear is a loud ding then we get an overly stern voice saying expectations and all the other standard information. I understand it’s not middle school anymore but we still are growing teens and need enrichment. I hope this review was helpful.Student Review1y ago3 Reviews - Dinwiddie Elementary School

"Lock the doors to your home. Have security cameras inside and out of home that record and live. Lock the vehicles and make sure your yard is well lit and if able to put a tall fence around your property. Needs to be at least 6’ tall. "

"I am unsure of any community events in the area. It should be advertised more in the public spaces or even in general mailed outs."

"It’s good and bad, but I don’t necessarily want to live inside Petersburg on the outskirts though it’s OK I love the farmers market and the down-home restaurants"

"They do a lot of things for kids which is pretty cool considering no towns ever wanna just let kids be kids and have fun. Petersburg offers a lot for children especially around the holiday time. Christmas, Halloween, Fourth of July. And they have different events for adults in the community as well, but I like the involvement of the children. "

"It’s not bad…it can get a little tight down in old town, but for the most part, the commute is pretty decent."

"It’s an area less cared for than the predominantly white areas which are well manicured. We have no covered bus stops, no flowers planted, No community events and many abandoned buildings."

"It’s terrible place to live it’s chesterfield county by default. Unsafe high crime area. The only good thing about living in Ettrick is your children can attend Chesterfield County schools. That’s it!"
