3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is horrible. There has been multiple instances of students having loaded guns on campus. They need metal detectors at this point. They also do nothing about bullying. My son recorded incidents and told staff and nothing was done. They brushed it off and sent him back to class. He has reported bullying multiple times with no resolve. Our children are not safe at this school.Parent Review1mo ago13 Reviews - Chapman Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur family absolutely loves this school. We applied and were fortunate to be accepted into the Mandarin Dual Immersion Program, and it has been an incredible experience for our daughter. She started in Kindergarten and is now in 3rd grade, and it’s amazing to see how much she has learned. She can now read and speak Chinese, which is something we never imagined she would be able to do at such a young age.The teachers truly care about their students and their development. When we noticed our daughter was having a bit of a learning hiccup, her teacher, Mrs. Johnson, was incredibly supportive. She worked with us to identify the issue and helped guide us toward the right resources so our daughter could get the support she needed. Having a teacher who is so attentive and proactive made a huge difference for our family. The school also offers wonderful enrichment opportunities. Our daughter has participated in activities like theater, choir, and various performances, and we have really seen her confidence blossom through these programs.Another highlight is the after-school program (YDP) run by Ms. Nancy. It is fantastic. Our daughter loves it so much that she often doesn’t even want to leave when it’s time for the 6 PM pickup. The program includes homework support, playtime, arts and crafts, and STEAM activities, which makes learning fun and engaging after school.Overall, this has been a wonderful school experience. The teachers are caring, the administrators and principal are supportive and involved, and there is a strong focus on helping every student learn, grow, and get the help they need when challenges arise. We feel very lucky to be part of this school community.Parent Review2mo ago10 Reviews - Gardena Senior High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis review is long overdue. My daughter graduated from Gardena High School in 2007, back then the school was great, she had an amazing 4 year run. Not sure how it is now, as I have no school age children :) After graduating my daughter went on to Tuskegee University, got her BSN at age 20, continued her studies and received her Masters Degree. She is a ARNP (Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner), AIRBNB Owner, Private School Owner and Real Estate owner. Gardena High was definitely part of her success and journey. She met so many friends at Gardena and to this day they are still very close professional friends. Kudos to Gardena High :)Parent Review4mo ago13 Reviews - Check out schools near 15312 Van Ness Ave.

"What makes a neighborhood unique can be a mix of the people, culture, food, history, and everyday atmosphere. A neighborhood might stand out because of its local businesses, street art, music, sports culture, schools, or the way neighbors interact with each other. Some places feel unique because everyone knows each other, while others are known for diversity, nightlife, or traditions that have been around for "

"Not dog friendly. Narrow walkways, cars drive fast and a lot of stray cats with fleas. They also put a lot of chemicals on the plants and my dog got sick multiple times. "

"Been here for 4 years and it's a great family neighborhood with parks near. We walk our dog every night and watch the improvements everywhere. People are buying up and remodeling houses on almost every block. Close to shopping, freeways, beaches, malls, stores. When you see them build 40 new $1 million dollar homes here- there's no doubt the area is up and coming."
