I have 4 kids in the school system. One just graduated from the high school. I generally find the school to be excellent and can handle a wide variety of students.

The homework load at LMs has become unsustainable. Repetitive assignments and excessive busywork are not only overwhelming but also counterproductive. Instead of fostering a love of learning, the current approach seems designed to fill time rather than challenge students. More meaningful projects that encourage students to explore their interests and develop critical thinking skills would be far more effective. By rethinking the homework approach, the school can help students rediscover the joy of learning while reducing unnecessary stress.The way bullying is handled is another area that needs serious improvement. Too often, incidents are downplayed or dismissed as mere “peer conflicts,” leaving students feeling unheard and unsupported. This lack of accountability creates a toxic environment where bullying can thrive. The school must adopt a more proactive and compassionate approach to addressing bullying—one that prioritizes student safety and well-being. By taking these concerns seriously and working to build a more positive and inclusive environment, the school can make a real difference in the lives of its students.

Having served as a class parent for the past two years, I have had the privilege of working closely with the teachers at ACS. The dedication and care that the educators show toward their students is truly remarkable, and I feel incredibly fortunate that my daughter is a part of such a nurturing environment.The after-school care program, known as SACC, is another highlight of ACS. It provides excellent supervision for students and ensures they can participate in various after-school activities offered by local businesses, such as ballet, yoga, rec. center classes, taekwondo, etc. This variety not only enriches their after-school experience but also fosters a sense of community involvement.The ACS community is vibrant and supportive, encompassing everyone from the friendly crossing guards to the Home and School Association and the committed teachers. This collaborative atmosphere makes ACS not just a school but a true community hub where children can thrive both academically and socially. Overall, I highly recommend ACS for any family looking for a caring and enriching educational experience.
