The principal of Craftsbury Academy is focused on one thing only, keeping the standardized scores of the school high so that their ratings on the charts look good. The communication between the school and the parent is only based upon the willingness of the parent. Should the parent not press for communication the school takes advantage of this and will allow the student to slip through their education, allowing them to graduate without any after graduation life skills readiness. They cover up these actions by offering courses that are colorfully described and titled to seem as if they are preparing your student for future life. If your student has any kind of learning challenges they are not willing to encourage or help your student find a proper way to learn, they are strictly by the book of the state standards and not willing to find accommodations for the success of your student. They utilize the Green Mountain Tech. Career Center as a placement for children that they are having problems with. The teachers are not engaged into the success of the student or willing to communicate with parents when they see a child failing, they follow the standardized Common Core curriculum, and allow the child to continue with failing grades throughout the school year yet somehow the child still manages to pass at the end of the year, this in turn makes their graduation success rate on the charts look successful. Parents considering this school as a placement for your students academics should take a deeper look before taking the chart numbers as a finalized decision.

The leadership is amazing at this school. They have not only persevered through the COVID class changes, but actually excelled. We are very pleased with Lake Region Union High School.
