My child attended Nancy Ryles for Kindergarten & first grade. My child started excited to learn and left a broken child who was academically behind. One day in Kindergarten the teacher slapped my child’s desk trying to get them to read, my child came home in tears about it. I had hoped first grade would’ve been better but it was far worse. My child came home in tears daily feeling embarrassed, ashamed and begged me not to go back every morning. I tried to get my child evaluated for a learning disability thru the school while I awaited an ADHD evaluation from their Doctor. The teacher sat in a meeting and lied saying my child was reading fine that ultimately was the reason the team denied them an evaluation for learning disabilities. I requested a new classroom and they fought me on it after the principal originally said it was an option. The principal spoke to my child without my knowledge on an incident regarding their teacher and told me when they are in her care she can do as she pleases. Eventually they placed my child in a new classroom and we finished out the year. I made sure to move out of the Nancy Ryles School zone for the next school year.My child started 2nd grade at Hiteon Elementary and was immediately embraced with a kind, caring, compassionate teacher. The teacher noted my child seemed to be really triggered and traumatized when it came to reading time so she made sure to be extra patient with my child. While being diagnosed ADHD with the Doctor, Hiteon Elementary made it a priority to evaluate my child for learning disabilities. Turns out my child had multiple learning disabilities. The Special Education Team at Hiteon has been so extremely supportive to my child. Every teacher my child has had at Hiteon has embraced, encouraged and empowered my child who now loves to learn. I now have two children at Hiteon that are absolutely thriving! During my difficult time at Nancy Ryles I met several other parents who were also experiencing the same challenges with the Principal and staff at that school. In fact the common denominator was all of our children either had ADHD, learning Disabilities or both. It was heartbreaking to hear all the other families experiencing the same things that my child and myself did. My child still gets emotional when talking about the time they spent there. These instances create lifelong trauma and change the trajectory of children’s lives!Nancy Ryles needs to take accountability and make a change!!!

I liked that school it was fire

Our experience with Mountainside High School has been overwhelmingly positive. From the moment our son started at this school, we've been impressed by the level of support and dedication the staff shows towards each student's academic and personal growth.One of the standout features of this school is its inclusivity and the variety of opportunities it offers. Our son has had the chance to explore various interests, including participating in high school and club sports teams as well as having an opportunity to choose from a wide range of extracurricular clubs. Parent involvement is highly encouraged but not mandatory, which strikes a great balance. It allows parents to engage as much or as little as they wish, while still having their child benefit from the school’s extensive resources and programs. The opportunities for involvement are numerous, and the more you put into it, the more rewarding the experience can be.Overall, we are very impressed with Mountinside and feel confident in recommending it to other parents. If you’re looking for a school that supports diverse interests, fosters academic growth, and offers a variety of extracurricular opportunities, this school is an excellent choice.
