No todos tenemos la misma suerte como padre de Familia Tengo mala experiencia en esta escuela , La directora pierde los estribos con facilidad y tiene escepcion de personas , desecpcionada estoy . ESTA alli porque la asignaron a trabajar , hasta me dijo que iba a llamar la policia , pues le dije que la podia llamar. en UN momento pude ver la doble personalidad que tiene , Ella sabe a quien le grita , gritar no significa tener autoridad para decir las cosas. Tengo testigos pero de nada me sirve , porque es una Empleada de la escuela, lastomosamente Ella la asignaron como directora. Mis hijos no quiero que sigan estudiando en esta escuela. No hay que confundir ganar dinero y trabajar por UN salario . que tener pasion por El trabajo . la razon fue porque fui a traer mi hijo a las 4 de la tarde y lo mas tarde es a las 3.20. yo entiendo . pero se complico porque tenia cita con la pediatra de una bebe de 6 meses , y solo UN doctor habia atendiendo para los que estaban en cita . El telefono se me apago , pero no llamaron a mi esposo yo no tenia manera de llamar. eso no pasa todos los dias , fue una casualidad eso a cualquier padre le hubiera pasado.Not all of us have the same luck as parents. I have a bad experience at this school. The principal loses her temper easily and has exceptions from people. I am disappointed. SHE IS there because they assigned her to work, she even told me that the police were going to call, well I told her that she could call them. At ONE moment I could see the double personality she has. She knows who she is shouting at, shouting does not mean having the authority to say things. I have witnesses but it is of no use to me, because she is a school employee, unfortunately she was assigned as director. I don't want my children to continue studying at this school. Do not confuse earning money and working for ONE salary. You have to have passion for work. The reason was because I went to bring my son at 4 in the afternoon and the latest is 3:20. I understand . But it got complicated because I had an appointment with the pediatrician for a 6-month-old baby, and only ONE doctor was attending to those who had an appointment. My phone went off, but they didn't call my husband, I had no way to call. That doesn't happen every day, it was a coincidence that would have happened to any parent.

I too am a parent that has a daughter at Philo. When school first started , i was siting at a dentist appt. and an older lady just wanting to talk said hi, your son looks like he is very smart this was my 4 yr. old I said thank you, he is. Well the conversation went on and she asked where do your children go to school and i said Philo. As soon as i said that her demeanor changed. And she said i had a grandson there and plzz i ask of you to look out for your daughter, my grandson was a great student and when he entered there he did a complete u turn he went down hill. And of course i was worried but i thought i would give this school a try ... SO HERE I AM GIVING THIS SCHOOL THE WORST GRADE I CAN GIVE IT A 1 . NOT HAPPY MY DAUGHTER ALSO CHANGED AND I KNOW WHY IT'S BECAUSE OF PHILO !! PLEASE PARENTS LOOK AROUND IF YOU HAVE THE CHANCE DON'T DO WHAT I DID!! MY DAUGHTER IS MOVING SCHOOLS AS I AM TYPING THIS :)

One of the worst decisions I’ve ever made I didn’t have motivation to come to class and always felt like an outsider. A lot of teachers are hard and dont think about how we have a life outside of school.

I taught at this school for many years and have nothing but positive things to say about the students, parents, and staff members. I am filled with pride when I think about my time at the school and miss teaching there very much. The students are challenged academically and held to high standards, but they generally rise to and exceed these standards. The college professors in particular will hold the kids to account, and it shows in their development both as students and individuals. If you want your child to develop a strong work ethic, feel supported by both their peers and teachers, and grow into thoughtful, respectful, and diligent individuals, send them to this school!Please be mindful that this school is not for everyone. Students will be enrolled in college courses immediately and this has proven to be difficult for some individuals. The school also does not offer after-school sports (students can still participate, just at their neighborhood school), however there is an abundance of clubs on various days that almost all students participate in. Parents also need to understand that micromanaging their students' coursework is a no-go here. College professors sometimes outright refuse to speak with parents as they only communicate with the students themselves. Don't be turned off by this - it simply encourages the students to learn how to speak to their professors when they need help (questions, extensions, etc). In my opinion, this is one of the most important life skills that is taught at the school. That being said, parents are still a HUGE part of the Early College family and are encouraged to volunteer whenever possible. The school provides ample opportunities for families to get involved and participate in their kids' high school experience. I truly loved my experience here. I am so proud of my students and I had so much fun watching them develop into incredible, thoughtful, intelligent, and creative individuals.

This is a great school - definitely the best in the county. I received an excellent education here and was able to not only be accepted to top tier schools, but also thrive there. I am not sure what some of the other reviews are talking about. I have two younger siblings at Atkins and they are definitely allowed to use the bathroom and are not treated like prisoners. The school has a clear dress code that is advertised on their website, at open house, etc. So yes, if you are out of dress code, you will be asked to change.
